We have eaten venison that came from a farm in the Karoo district of Eastern Cape South Africa. Biltong is also made from the Springbok or Kudu. Dried meat is very popular, as a snack amongst South Africans.

Now weโre talking @dianadee I used to have a South African colleague, Simon. Pity they made him redundant. Covid-19 hit really hard all of us in the travel industry. Anyway, it is what it is. So Simon used to go home to South Africa for Christmas and New Year (probably, hopefully will still manage to go this year!) and was coming back with a selection of dried meats. Some tasted more spicy, others just peppery but all were top quality meat. Maybe you should photo some dried meats for @mister-omortsonโs food contest ๐ค Iโm sure other users would love to see traditional foods and itโs actually great so we get to know each other better ๐โโ๏ธ
