We should use nets when catching crabs, fishes or whatever we find in the oceans, the rivers and the lakes. And theories are nets cast to catch what we call the world. And the world we should rationalize, explain and master. We endeavor to make the mesh even finer and finer. And hence, we get better theories and data from time to time, and we are better off than ever since when using the situations that we have today.

The earliest-known nets were discovered in Finland and date to around 8,000 to 5,000 years ago. Even though most nets are gone, archaeologists can infer their existence through the discovery of stone sinkers. Hence, the nets are something we have used in the media channels, in the fishing, and in the catching of living animals and different crabs and fishes living in salt water or in fresh water. In principle, we can catch what we want with the nets, and these things are incorporated in «Five Forces» from professor Michael E. Porter by Harvard Business School.

Oldest net found dates from 8300 BC. It was made from willow and was found among the other fishing equipment in the Karelian town of Antrea. One more fishing net but with sinkers was found at the bottom of a dried sea and it dates back to the late Mesolithic period. Rock carvings at Alta in northern Norway date between 4200 - 500 BC and represent animals, people and religious drawings. Among those carvings are patterns of horizontal and vertical lines which some think represent fishing nets.

What we aim at is truth: we test our theories in the hope of eliminating those which are not true. In this way we may succeed in improving our theories–even as instruments: in making nets which are better and better adapted to catch our fish, the real world. Yet they will never be perfect instruments for this purpose. They are rational nets of our own making, and should not be mistaken for a complete representation of the real world in all its aspects; not even if they are highly successful; not even if they appear to yield excellent approximations to reality.

So, making nets and clusters among the five forces implies catching the potential customers to be real customers, the potential vendors to be real vendors, the potential substitutes or the products that are really similar in some context and settings to the real products in question, potential new entrants to the markets, and these can be real entrants, and thus there are more firms to compete among the same products and brands, and rivalry meaning all the competition in some kinds or another, that is the main road in a distinct trade or businesses where one uses labor and capital. And the more profit one gets, the better the organization is living its life in the short run and in the long run.

Therefore, in business life, we are using nets for many purposes, and we are even better today and tomorrow than we were yesterday! Nets are used for making connections among many things, and for building out a present structure and solution to be even better! So, the nets can be similar in some context, or completely similar in all its variations, or the nets can be different in the ways they are functioning within. Hence, when building nodes and associations, we can make established nets, or we can make new nets. And you know, the fishing industry has an equal logic, since we are using the same equipment as before to catch the fishes, or we are using better nets than any time before, and these new nets are being there in relations to the needs and attention different places, and for doing the research and development where we are finding even better, stronger and more unique nets.
