Today we are talking about an anime movie that I absolutely love. I feel as though I will try my best not to be bias with this analysis but it will be difficult because this is yet another one that I have cherished for many years and will for many years to come. 
Paprika is about a machine that helps therapist tap into the dreams of their patients. This machine gets stolen and everything goes to shit and only a female therapist named "Paprika" can do anything to stop it.

<H3>Art style/Animation.5/5 points</H3>
The art in this film is amazing! The characters came from the mind of director Satoshi Kon and was the last film before his death. He created an amazing world filled with crazy insanity! Talk about a trippy movie and the visuals help to keep your mind moving during this beautiful controlled chaos. 
<H3>Voice Acting/Music.5/5 points</H3>
Great retro electronic music. The music helps solidify the trip you will take on this film. Brilliantly done voice acting that translates to english well. I think the OST has a ton to do with the immersion this film has. It will suck you into the crazy visuals and give you crazy feelings when the soundtrack plays.   
<H3>Hook. 5/5 points</H3>
This one will have you hooked within the first 5 minutes as they throw you into an insane dream that seems like the works of a drug trip. The mind can be a powerful thing and this is represented in the first 5 minutes. It will have you saying " What the hell just happend?" but also leaving dying for more.
<H3>Resolution 4/5</H3>
At the end you might be left confused. It might take a time or two of watching to let this one sink in. Without spoiling the film, Id like to say it might be hard to understand the end of this one, but once you do it becomes brilliant. 

<H1>OVERALL SCORE: 9/10 ONE OF THE BEST FILMS IVE SEEN.</H1>
This is definitely one to recommend, even if you dont like the "Mind fuck" That it gives you, I still feel like its worth the watch. The story is engaging and will keep you on the edge of your seat. The mystery gives this a real purpose and I personally enjoyed it very much. I definitely would recommend!

Easily the weakest Satoshi Kon movie. The total lack of coherency is a major reason for that. The only reason to be interested in the plot is for the sake of being interested. There's no reason to care about anything since it jumps into the matrix very quickly and becomes a visually impressive mess.

There's no thematic consistency, no clear message and a weak cast due to the lack of characterisation and dialogue for most of the cast. The fat guy who made the matrix has the most to him and he barely speaks. 

Inception may have been a blatant ripoff, but it had thematic consistency, a cast that was well characterised, an intriguing plot that had some setup before getting into the mind matrix and a good ending.

For Satoshi Kon movies, Millennium Actress and Perfect Blue are miles above this one.

I loved all of his films.. Just wonderful! It is my second runner up to Studio Ghibli films. I certainly like the visual matrix. The concepts behind that are just amusing to me. It is almost like being insane or something. I always loved that about this film. It is a shame you didn't enjoy it! :( sorry to hear that.

No need to apologise, there are a lot of things that I find weak/bad/horrid but I rarely take it personally. I'm content watching mediocre things. That's the only reason I was able to watch all 720 episodes of Naruto.

I believe that Millennium Actress is the most well received Kon film, and it's easy to see why. Love letters are generally thought to be at a higher level than most else since they are made out of love, not out of financial interest. Gurren Lagann was another love letter and that's on its way to becoming a classic.
