Planting Sunflowers

There are sunflowers grown commercially in Kansas.  After sprouting they require 80 -120 days to mature.  This should get us to late July or August.

The weather is too glorious to be indoors.

My mom had a bird feeder in her front yard.  One day she noticed a sunflower coming up beneath it.  One of the seeds must have fallen and grown.  When it was all said and done the sunflower plant was nearly 20 feet tall.  It was a monster.  I think the birds are on steroid bird seed...
