Another good post buddy. I would suggest though that whilst this is just a ploy for the failing liberal democrats to garner support among what must be a sizable share of the voting public, that they have no intention of lagalizing cannabis use and commercial sale even though they point to the increase in tax revenue. It is obvious to me at least that any legalization of cannabis and subsequent increase in tax revenue will be negated by the tax reduction from the decreased sale of alcohol. Perhaps this would not be the case and there would still be an overall net gain in tax revenue but for sure this proposal must be drawing attention from alcohol producers who have a very strong influence on all political parties.

Having said all of that I would also say that it is about time 'people' started waking up to the fact that  government exists to carry out the will of the 'people'. Not only is cannabis something that is wanted in society it is literally needed for its medicinal value and craved by the endocannabinoid  system we all have in our bodies. Not to mention the multitude of benefits from the hemp plant. We need to stop asking for permission to do what we know is right .We need to start breaking free from this control system and start taking back personal responsibility for our actions and paths in life..

It will be fully legalized in Canada by next June ! Of course each Province will come up with their own added laws on top of the all ready imposed laws ! Smoke on lol !! I mean steel on !! 😂😂👍

Legalize the Herb - or should I say the Super Herb, It is true the UK government has lost the battle against cannabis/weed use amongst its population, and its though they want to steer well clear from this issue - Great Post, personally I find the Liberal democrats annoying because the vast majority are (remainers) and as a political party they are crap, does anyone remember Nick Clegg? 
I suspect the people who control the UK think if it is Legalised for medicinal use or recreational purposes, they will not only be surrendering and admitting defeat, but they will lose their power to govern the people, because when it finally comes out that the government knew all about its healing properties that could have saved tens of millions of lives and all the economic benefits of Hemp etc. and how they went to great lengths to criminalise it in order to control, any credibility they have left will go up in big puff of smoke.

Saying they are considering legalisation doesn't mean anything will be done anytime soon. 
Ireland has been promising this for a while...people got excited when it was announced that legalisation was being debated and the motion passed. 
It was just step one, and months later the Health Board is recommending that medicinal cannabis may be prescribed for 3 reasons only..certain forms of epilepsy, MS, and for people who are undergoing chemotherapy. 
Those of us in agonising pain 24/7 aren't even being considered. Apparently they don't have enough information on it's use for pain relief. Come on! 😠 I am told to "manage" my pain...and have also been prescribed very strong and dangerous drugs by two doctors, (these drugs are addictive, have bad side effects and actually exacerbates the condition) while other doctors and consultants tell me not to use them! 
So why can't I and others like me be given a licence to grow our own cannabis plants for personal use? 
So what the government promises may be just that...a "promise" that they are considering it. 
Legalisation would stop many for having to break the law, risking imprisonment, plus it would reduce the number of drug pushers and their drugs which could be cut with any number of substances.

I wish weed becomes legal in my country -not UK and i don't consume cannabis- for the simple reason it will end a lot of crime and violence created by the traffic of a drug more harmless that is more harmless that the things they give you at the hospital.

Unfortunately I dont see the Lib dems getting any traction in the election unless they jumped into bed with the conservatives again and get pretty much ignored for 5 years. 
I really hope who ever wins this election takes the time to look at how much waste there is fighting cannabis. Less dangerous than alcohol and smokes yet its demonized all the time. 
I find its older generations as well who begun or were part of the criminalization of weed. We need a more up to date on point drugs policy and support network for addicts offering real solutions and u understanding.

I see it as a desperate move to grab votes. I used to hope for more sane laws on cannabis in the UK but we've moved further and further away from that so I've become pretty sceptical of any political figure making that promise. 

On a side note, I'd love to see people educated on the harms of tobacco and cannabis used together in a spliff. It's such a common practice in the UK and it turns a relatively harmless drug like cannabis into something else entirely. So many of my friends can't enjoy weed without mixing it with tobacco and find it next to impossible to stop doing it. I quit tobacco in joints 2 months ago and although it was hard to begin with, it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. The weed/baccy high is just so dirty, I never want to go back.
