Teacher crowdfunding is on the rise in a number of areas, as many schools and teachers struggle to afford the necessary supplies to provide the services to the many children that attend.  

From Texas to the U.K., teachers have been increasingly turning to crowdfunding efforts [to get what they need](https://www.kxan.com/news/education/texas-study-teacher-crowdfunding-is-on-the-rise-one-type-of-school-is-most-successful/). 

People would likely much rather see their money going toward funding education for children than paying debt on interest or never-ending wars. Unfortunately though, we always hear about various school budgets etc being gutted and there always being problems with teachers claiming to need more resources. 

Thankfully, there are many people who are willing to help respond to these crowdfunding efforts. One teacher raised almost $200 just so she could afford extra snacks for the kids she teaches, so that they could focus on work instead of focusing on being hungry.

# More than [80 percent of schools in the](https://www.kxan.com/news/education/texas-study-teacher-crowdfunding-is-on-the-rise-one-type-of-school-is-most-successful/) United States have teachers who are crowdfunding for their students.
<center></center>In the U.K., there are [over 1,000 schools](https://www.theguardian.com/education/2019/apr/09/cash-strapped-english-schools-turn-to-online-donations-to-close-funding-gap) that are using crowdfunding to help raise funds that they need to provide better services for the children. 

Often times, the cost will come out of the pocket of the teacher themselves, but many cannot afford that struggle and so it's great that crowdfunding is available to them to get the resources that they need. 

## Previous studies have found that more than 90 percent of teachers admit to using their own [money to help buy](https://www.wxyz.com/news/dps-foundation-launches-crowdfunding-campaign-to-support-detroit-public-schools-community-district) things for the classroom.
<center></center> That is hundreds of dollars every year on average that is coming out of their own pocket and going toward the children that they teach. Teachers advocates have suggested that because of the alarming rate that so many schools are turning to crowdfunding for help, <b>this should be an obvious sign</b> that government isn't cutting it.
