Having trouble sleeping is a common problem that millions of people struggle with. It's why billions of dollars are spent every year on sleep aids and various tech gadgets, the shelves have been flooded with potential sleeping solutions; people are desperate for some shuteye.

Good sleep has been associated with <b>[healthier weight](https://www.webmd.com/diet/sleep-and-weight-loss), a better mood, improved memory</b>, and other benefits. 

If you are tired, you could be irritable, less productive, and even increase your chances of getting into a [car accident if you plan to drive](https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-drivers-sleep-deprivation/sleep-deprivation-could-be-as-risky-for-drivers-as-alcohol-idUSKCN1MI1O7).

<center> </center> A recent survey from the University of Sheffield revealed that <b>many people today might be trying to use music to help them sleep</b>. 

The survey results suggested that roughly 62 percent of the respondents had listed that they tried music to help them get to sleep.

[Classical music was the most popular choice](https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/11/181114160033.htm), followed by rock, pop, and house music.

The popular artists that were selected were frequently seen to be choices such as <b>Ed Sheeran, Mozart, Chopin, Bach, and Coldplay, among others.</b>

The reasons for using music varied:
- distraction
- adjust personal state of mind
- security
- influencing the quality of content of dreams
- habit

This could have its own negative consequences however, as some sleep experts point out. That's because the music listening might prevent someone from being [able to effectively self-soothe](https://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/health-and-wellness/tuning-out-the-trouble-with-using-music-to-help-you-sleep-20181115-p50g6s.html), and might end up doing more harm than good to your sleep.

Many tips and tricks have been tried, anything and everything from taking melatonin to drinking warm milk, avoiding eating late at night, and more. 

Some people have tried to cut out caffeine, experimented with doing a high-energy activity before bed to [try and make themselves tired](https://www.bustle.com/p/11-things-to-avoid-doing-when-you-cant-sleep-according-to-experts-9875002), or tried to establish a regular sleeping pattern that involves going to sleep at the same time every night. *What works for one might not work for another*. There are still millions of people who are struggling with sleep issues today.

One previous study [from earlier this year](https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/08/180827080852.htm), which was also investigating the topic of music and sleep, discovered that <b>listening to yoga music</b> at bedtime might *help to benefit the heart*. Researchers claimed that the music therapy showed it had a beneficial impact specifically <b>*on heart rate variability*</b>, adding to past research which also supports the notion that listening to music might help to reduce anxiety, among providing other potential benefits.

It's horrible not being able to sleep, it's a sensation that does not feel good at all, luckily it's not my case I usually fall asleep very fast, I go to bed so tired and as I have to get up very early my sleep is fast and deep.
Of course I have had my nights I can not sleep and I just get up and use the computer for a while and then I go to sleep, I have seen members of my family who can not sleep and the next day they feel very bad, if the music is a solution is true would be great

I would like to add :-
Yoga Nidra is an effective way to get enough deep sleep. I have done it personally with no negative effects at all.

Those, having problem in sleeping, may download Yoga Nidra and it is a researched way to have quality sleep.

If you are not able to sleep you should contact a doctor.

There ist difference in the type of sleed disorders - some people are not able to get into sleep - other people are waking up after they fall in sleep.

In all cases, if organic reasions are excluded, you should take care of your feets.

If you have cold feets, there is a good chance to be not able to sleep. So warm up your feets and you will fall in sleep.

Take care of your work life balance and be friendly to yourself.

Warm feets are a good help for peaple with sleep disorders.

I find it difficult to fall asleep for a couple reasons.  

First, I have tinnitus, constant ringing in my ear.  Probably caused from too many loud concerts and clubs.  I need to fall asleep to sound in the background or the ringing is all I can hear.  

Second, I think too much. haha

I recently switched to a flip phone to combat constant smartphone usage. With these huge smartphones we carry around, our eyes are exposed to more light. On my flip phone (Samsung smart folder) I got rid of the useless apps that didn't serve me anything other than scrolling and wasting time. And since it is a bit more of a hassle to use, I am much less prone to pull it out every other minute. If I need to see if I have a notification I just check the blinking light on the front. Anyways, I've been sleeping so much better since I switched phones.
