At the moment of writing, Bitcoin was trading, on average, at $16,873, with strong upwards tendencies in Asia: over $20k in South Korea and over $17k in Japan.

Total market cap surpasses $600 billion again, with $620 billion at the moment of writing, and a Bitcoin dominance still under 50% (at 45.6%, but rising):

Steem was slightly down at $3.27.

Still early to draw any conclusions, but you can at least identify an overall positive sentiment. Taking into account the days before and after New Years Eve, we may expect a bit more bumpiness in the next 7-10 days.
