As I mentioned in [part one of my magical mother/daughter trip](https://steemit.com/blog/@dreemit/a-party-in-pittsburgh-supernatural-convention-part-one-hi-f-usdking-larious-richard-speight-jr-the-host-with-the-most), I have a plethora of photos and videos that I've had to sort through and upload in order to make proper posts to memorialize this trip.  I have no idea if I will have another opportunity for a multiple day mother/daughter retreat- (which is to say that the bribe of paying for most everything might not work for me again. ;) So this had to be fantastic.  Happily it was!!

Aside from being the bankroll I did have one other thing going for me in her eyes, which is that I've watched every episode of the series. According to Zoe you are *not* a true fan of the show if you cannot make that claim. And in order to be a super fan of the show like her you need to re-watch them all at least once. 

The series began in 2005 when she was just a little tyke, and actually my husband and I were pretty die hard fans in the early years. To the extent that the characters of Will and Josh from my book series [Allies of Old](https://steemit.com/story/@dreemit/the-allies-of-old-book-two-renewal-chapter-fifty-four-viva-las-vegas) are a bit of an homage to Dean and Sam Winchester. However I lost track of the show after season five and it was only after Zoe fell in love with it that I resumed watching as a way to bond with her.

Before the festivites really got underway we decided to take a quick walk through the cultural district of Pittsburgh.

We grabbed a sandwich from subway and made a mental note of where to get ice cream before heading back inside for the first panel.

A quick back story of Jason Manns.  Firstly, he is not in the show in any capacity. The natural question would then be- How on earth did he come to have his own panel at a Supernatural convention if he is not in Supernatural?

This is a case of "It's not what you know, it's who you know." And who Jason knows is Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester), is in fact a long time buddy of Jensen's. So when they first started the conventions they were all throwing out ideas on what to do and Jensen told them about his long time buddy who was a singer/songwriter/guitarist and they decided to give it a shot.

Needless to say, he was a hit and has been touring with them ever since.  

What makes him particularly great is that even after years of being in the spotlight he's still just a regular guy, one who will chat with you  and gladly pose for a picture:

All in all it was a pretty exciting first day, with run-ins like the one I had with Jason (Zoe's is from the following day)

And another run-in with Mark Sheppard (AKA Crowley/the King of Hell)

After this we went and checked in to our hotel...which was hardly the end of the day, we still had the day's main event to come back for....

And not just any old karaoke, a *circus* themed karaoke with members from the cast as well as the audience.

while Matt Cohen (Young John Winchester) was the cutest lion I've ever seen.

And anyone who watches the show is familiar with its sheriffs- Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes-who also played the mom in the Suite life of Zach and Cody) and Donna Hanscom (Brianna Buckmaster) who both looked amazing, though I'm not entirely sure what they were supposed to be, hmm. Eh no matter, those ladies are a hoot!
