Life Saving Stripes
When I saw @juliank has a "stripes" theme for his #smartphonephotography contest I thought "I don't see many stripes where I'm at." But when I looked up I noticed these:

Not sure how well you can see them, but these are the marks foresters make on trees prior to timber sales. Sometimes they mark the "take" trees, but in this case they marked the "leave" trees. So you could say these are life saving stripes.
