STEEM at 0.12 USD? It has only been cheaper on 37 of its 1309 days!

<h4>Back in late 2016/early 2017, the STEEM price fell to its lowest point ever, and for about 37 days, was cheaper than it is right now at 12 cents!</h4>

(For anyone interested, the days were November 1 and 2, 12-17, and 19-22, plus the stretch between Febrary 20 and March 15.)

But 1 USD doesn't buy the same today as it did a few years ago! When adjusted for inflation, STEEM has only been cheaper on a mere <i>23</i> days. Youch!

When priced in Bitcoin, measuring STEEM's purchasing power, the situation is even worse: All-time lows.

Will STEEM test the all-time nominal low of 0.07 USD?

It appears destined to, considering that insiders continue to sell off large amounts of their tokens onto the market. If the overall crypto market (Bitcoin, essentially) can turn around soon, perhaps at <a href="https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@drutter/jrpt1weu">Christmas</a>, STEEM may not make new lows.

Either way, these prices are fairly hard to swallow, for holders of the currency (anyone powered up/invested).

There's no way to put a positive shine on this story at the moment, except perhaps to say "it's darkest before the dawn". That's not much comfort, but I'm just reporting the data as I see them, so that others can consider them when forming their own opinions.

True! And that's exactly what everybody was saying 2 years ago, when I did just that! I've lost 99% so far.
"It can't go much lower!" 
That's also what they said 2 years ago, funnily enough. Now we know better. It can lose another 99%, and then another 99% of that, and so on, forever. That's a special power of digital currencies that physical coins don't have :p
