I often feel uncomfortable trying to switch scenes mid page, but here I think I manage to do so by hiding the shift behind a joke.

Harvey notices Mookie's awful parking job and remarks that that man must be an asshole - cut to Mookie drinking and laughing.

It's not laugh out loud funny, but it makes me smirk, and most importantly it moves me back to where I want to be in the story.

Transitions are hard man, I've been talking about them a lot this week...probably because I took too long a break from writing and now issue 5 has been a struggle to break back into. I had an amazing idea on how to start the issue off while I was writing on a train, because for some reason movement often helps me come to random epiphanies. Issue 5 will start from the perspective of Rupert Saxton, and since he's a 4th dimensional being the past, present, future, and some alternate timelines are all just a jumble of memories to him. I had some crazy ideas for the panel layout, and I hope that when eventually Theresa and I get to that part she will be excited at the challenge, and not super pissed at me...

After that initial idea, I've slowed down. I have this internal pressure where I feel like I can't condense time, that I need to show all the events as they logically unfold. It really annoys me when I can't get past this mental block, because we don't need to: 

-watch someone get hurt 
- have them react to getting hurt 
-call for help 
-get help, etc. 

Maybe I need to stop writing towards the end of the day when I'm tired, I bet our shitty habits are harder to resist when our brain has checked out.
