## <center>So after about a year and a half I am finally doing my PADI open water diving course!!!</center>


Before we kick things off I would just like to give a massive thanks to my big brother 
@stephb for sorting me out with the opportunity to do this, without him it would probably have taken another year or two.

### <center>Day One:</center>

I left home just before 12:00 as I needed to be at the Dive Shop at 12:30. Never having been to the Dive Shop I downloaded the offline maps for my GPS to guide me as I didn't have data. On the way I noticed that the GPS was not updating and I knew this was going to end badly. I sent a message to my mom asking her to google the Shop and send me directions on WhatsApp. So after getting the directions I felt confident and kept on driving. The road later makes a split which was not mentioned and this resulted in about a 20 min run around between side streets, but finally I got someone who directed me to the shop. I was only 15 minutes late but I felt really bad as it was my first day, luckily my instructor was super chilled and an all round nice guy. The first day was just Theory so we worked through the book and I wrote my exam. I even scored 96% so bam, proud of myself!!!

### <center>Day Two</center>  

Day Two was were the fun started, POOL TIMEEEEE. On the second day I found the Dive Shop a lot easier, however I some how managed to get lost again for about 5 minutes. (It's a tricky road okay) We got kitted up at the shop and headed to the swimming pool. Unfortunately I didn't really take much photo's but I will on day 3 and 4. So at the pool I was shown how to set up my gear and check everything. This is the basic setup you dive with below

So I put my wet suit on and got in the pool. This was the first time I ever had a wet suit on and the feeling of the water entering the suit and making bubbles was crazy. I put my kit on and Steve told me I can go ahead and take my first breath under water... what a feeling!!! We continued to practice all the necessary technique's needed to dive. I learned how to clear any water that would come into my mask, control my buoyancy under water and on the surface. All the emergency maneuvers and how to fix common problems underwater. 

So that was my first two days, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow are my last two days. I will be doing two dives in the ocean each day and I'll be sure to get a snap of me in my kit and maybe even one underwater!!!
