DSES News: Getting Ideas to Make Weak Account Useful in a Bear-ish Market
Ah... the Crypto Market Bearish days...

Some blame the BTC's instability, and others, blames Steemit Inc with its honest news.

Pretty much most of the people who have been talking non stop about the Steem Blockchain challenging days ahead with both sides of the camp; either you are excited for the new upcoming change from dapps who are doing their best to improve it; whole other _nay sayers_ continue to rant about it and some rumours even speak about whales powering down.

(But as @awesomianist mentioned: Whales are people too. They need to pay bills)
_That is true because a lot of them are real people with real lives_

---

# So... what's next?

There was a famous saying 2 decades (+1) ago in most of the Hong Kong speeches and movies while many _dreaded_ the day back in 1997 when [Hong Kong was returned to China](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handover_of_Hong_Kong) after the [_Convention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory_](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convention_for_the_Extension_of_Hong_Kong_Territory) ended brought sense to many persevering Chinese who are unable to _runaway_ (migrate out of the region) and remained steadfast with survival and creativity.

# _舞照跳,马照跑,股票继续炒_
_Keep dancing, Keep gambling, Keep trading_
was the direct translation of the lifestyle of the prosperous Hong Kong under the British government back then - as life goes on, no matter who governs.

Well of course, in some sense for Steemit this is quite a _gamble_ / _bet_ to believe in such a _Proof of Stake_ structure that could help make a difference for human sustainability in community , humanity and economy; but what can we do to keep persevering as Steemit Inc and Steem corporation continues to work through their transition towards their desired plans?

# Adding Delegation into the Shareholding

http://img.mywofs.com/dses/DSES-shareholders-20181211.png

So as a lot of other _services_ like @tipU , who rewards delegation back to their delegators daily with a certain amount, I have thought of a different idea on how it should be rewarded. Of course, this is still a testing method with a weak SP for this account so I am not advising anyone else's account to join in (unless you want to help test it as a _charitable investment_ ) because I am still tweaking to see how this can work.

I used to have an old account @craftsofluv , where I opened it before the main account @littlenewthings later (as I thought I lost that account) which I occasionally use it for charity events and showcasing my hobbyist craft work during my spare time to sell / raffle out as charity. With the bear market in Steemit, this account that is below 220 SP could hardly yield 1 cent so I have decided to switch off the support soon and just delegate some over as testing.

https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmeQEmyMZvJ6Vs93XsNWTXE1GkkDoZi9Bf54uaxyEsWsaD/image.png

Furthermore I am still quite busy with work and this account is not really posting daily, the account still relies on curation trail from #teammalaysia community trail whenever there are good content added into the post promotion for moderators to read. So it doesn't yield much profit just as yet.

That being said, I have increased my list of fanbase in the @steemauto for this account to support more community emphasis and charity emphasis accounts like @thesteemengine , @fundition , @steemclub-uk , @steembasicincome and @qurator (once a day when the power is above its threshold to issue a 1 cent value upvote) to test out a good way of supporting great content writers because these communities means business when it comes to their choices to support great writers / charity organisations out there.

(That is because I DO know some of them, and met at least one of them in person)

Dare I say, this is no guarantee formula but just an experiment

So don't feel bad if there's no upvote coming from this account as it is still weak and tiny.
# The drawback I see in this exercise

http://img.mywofs.com/dses/DSES-shareholders-20181211-2.png

Like the donors before hand, when people delegate to this account, unlike TipU , you don't get to see the rewards immediately the very next day, because the moment the power is delegated over, the next upvote from this account will only start including the delegation owner curation rewards; so delegators will only start to see it 7 days later.

This also means that even when a delegator decides to pull out its delegation, the curation rewards will continue the next 7 days (if any) for the delegator and its share will be transferred over to the ex-delegator should he / she decides to withdraw his / her share.

### Of course, other arrangements can be made
Such as if this account has extra liquidated Steem to transfer over to ex-delegator (upon request) and this account does not need to power down its SP for liquidation.

## Hence it is always good to keep some liquidation around for such cases

The whole exercise at this moment is not deemed automated as I have mentioned, on my previous post, this is not for profit margin, but to help to find sustaining alternatives for the Steem Blockchain to keep its usefulness alive; and this can be one of the ways to do so for accounts who are sitting duck, unable to help with small amount of power.

In a Chinese saying, this is called

# 借力
(Borrowing strength)

And of course, I am not doing this to fight any services but just to encourage users to _split their limited eggs in many baskets_ to both receive ROI and also helping other communities to grow.

---

Maybe there are other ways like while these accounts are being delegated to the account, their posts are upvoted as a token of appreciation in confidence for their work.

---

And for @intelliguy who have continuously stated his concerns of abuse in Steemit with such facilities, those who actually delegate to this account that creates content must prove to at least create good content on their accounts.

(I am not certain is there a way to reject delegation from accounts? Maybe #steemit gurus can shed some light here)

### I must say this is a theory that can easily be applied and abused if applied by communities who plans to farm it for ROI purposes; and this truly requires the conscience of the person who started it to keep this ecosystem alive.

# This whole social media platform is supposed to be decentralised, we are to accountable with our own decisions and actions.

By the way, not all the _shareholders_ are delegators. To understand how the pie chart came to that many shareholders I would strongly encourage you to see my previous post [DSES News: Pitching on Real Life Donors for Charitable Investments](https://steemit.com/dses/@dses/dses-news-pitching-on-real-life-donors-for-charitable-investments)

@dses ·
I am glad that you are, @pennsif! I am trying to keep tweaking the settings to the point that every of the shareholders will have a good chance to grow their stakes at the same time relevant charity and community organisation will benefit more and more in the future. One can only do so much with so little power at the moment haha
