Tuesday is for Trees

<center>*St. Lucia. The most mountainous of all the Caribbean Islands. Volcanic island. Oh, the natural beauty of it. Rainforests to hike through and discover another side of nature. Plunging cliffs that take your breath away. Winding roadswith hairpin turns and single wider roads. Hang on!!*<center>

<center>*I was driving through the countryside, taking in the lush beauty of St. Lucia, when I passed a banana farm and knew I had to stop for #TreeTuesday to get a shot. They have them in the blue bags to prevent black spots on them as they ripen. If a green banana rubs up against another, it will bruise. Also, they are sprayed for mites and the bag helps keep them safe from them. I am not sure how I feel about that! Technically, bananas are not even trees!! Who knew??? I just found out that they're perennial herbs.*</center>

#### <center>He lived in the fishing village and worked here, in this artists shack, which were dotted along the roadside everywhere I drove. He took out his guitar and seranaded us with his Bob Marely songs. Oh, yes! And then he showed us his artwork, as we looked down at the town. So much talent here. So little opportunity.</center>

Great photos as always!  Are you doing a lot of diving as you visit these tropical paradises?  You must have so many gorgeous photos in your collection.

I never knew that about bananas either.  I wonder what they spray on them before they put them in the bags.  I'm thinking it can't be anything healthy.

I would have enjoyed the performance of Bob Marley songs as well.  There's an indoor/outdoor club near me and on Friday evenings they have a guy that performs Bob Marley songs, and he's been there literally years.

Some are better than others. I think Bonaire is really the only worthy one (in my opinion) this trip, as was known before it was started. So, except for that one, it's been tried before and the answer was already known.  :)

Bonaire is already on the schedule for another trip soon. As is Cozumel, which also has great diving along that coast.

I can't believe that I never knew about the bananas, or is it something they have just started. I have seen the blue bags only in the last couple of years and not everywhere. I don't even want to think about what they spray on them and my intake of bananas has gone down. Way down. 

How cool about the club that has a Bob Marley singer/fan. This man was pretty cool, and I really enjoyed his impromptu performance. 

Well. I do have to work, so I had to come home. I was lucky enough to have this as a combo work/play vacation, so it worked out pretty well for me. I have just arrived home and will be gone a couple of days, but, no cruising for at least two months. 

Le sigh.

I do love the brightly colored houses that dot the Caribbean Islands. So tropical, peaceful and happy looking. Much like the people themselves. One cannot help but have a joyful heart when perusing the islands.

Le sigh. 

It is always a treat to get a comment from you and as you have been there, you know what a paradise it can be. Those pretty little houses that have joy written all over them, they make me happy just looking at them. Who knew about the banana covers? I didn't, although I have seen them in the last two years. (Maybe more?) And yes! Bananas were a fruit as far as I knew. Oh! The things we learn, especially here on steemit!

My neck of the woods was warm except for the last few days before I came home. The temperatures got downright winter!  I can't believe that it is still snowing there although, nobody has really had much of a winter this year. Maybe it is waiting for March!  :(  

I am having a wonderful day. I just stepped in my own door about an hour ago and greeted warmly by those I left behind. 💕 Thank you, always, Nina. You have a way of making every person you come in contact with feel special. 

That makes you amazing. 💕

Isn't that the truth, Joan?  @joanstewart  Life should be free and easy in a society such as this, yet the economic strain of life weighs heavy on them. They live in such beauty, yet poverty is abundant. Not the kind that we have, not being able to have another vacation, but more direct needs. Food, medical, shelter. 

And yet, they are the sweetest, kindest and happiest people I have ever seen. God bless them.

It has always been a paradise to those in the United States, but, I have found that to be only in the resort areas. The rest of the island has a beauty of its own, in the people, the lush landscape and the joy in their souls. That is what makes it such a beautiful place.

Your post caught my eye with that blue bag.. I was thinking it was trash stuck in the tree and then after reading, it all makes perfect sense now..haha. Glad you had a nice vacation. My wife and I are stuck in the all inclusive rut, and like it. St Lucia doesn't have many of those and to tell ya the truth I wouldn't do one there. Looks like an island that one would like to just putter around on. Some day. Some day. Where did you end up staying? 

I can picture myself in that nice rancher by the marina in that photo of yours. Those docked sailboats and steep lush valley's look amazingly peaceful.

Wow! And I thought that there was only a St Lucia here in South Africa. A lovely tropical area in KZN. That island looks fabulous Lady Denise and I am glad that you could get some R&R in.
They wrap the bananas here in hessian cloth, as the cloth can breathe, but I have never seen them spraying the fruits.
Far up north in Tzaneen, a place near where I lived as a child, there are tea plantations, mango trees, avocado trees, to only name a few and all over the place the banana trees can be seen.

Ha! Well, there you go! I had no idea there was one in South Africa! But, it seems like they are both tropical paradises! It really is a nice island and a place that is so peaceful and the people are full of joy. 

I have never seen them spray anything, but, one of the locals says he *thought* they did. So, not sure what to make of that, but, it surely has lessened my taste for them.  :)   Banana trees are prevalent here and in the Caribbean as a whole. I just got back and yes! There is no place like home.

Hi there kindness, I think it sounds better than (blondie) Lol.
I know that the bananas have to be prevented from bruising each other, but they might be sprayed, as why else would the sell "organic" bananas over here?
Definitely bears looking into as we don't want to eat any sprayed stuff.

I saw you joined (and welcomed you! All the way from Cartagena, Columbia! I would be miffed you missed it, but, know you could feel the welcome vibes!) I am finally back and getting around to catching up... is there really any catching up?

Corona Virus has me second-guessing my plans to jump ship and leave here in May. I will see how that plays out although, at the moment, I am getting cold feet with new cases popping up here and there.

How strange to have blue bags on bananas!
