I don't dislike AOC (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) but she sure is a media darling for the left and a real target for right-leaning media who attempt to make her out to be a spokesperson for her party (which I don't believe she actually is.)  I do think that most of her ideas are impractical but her heart is in the right place, even if she is terribly misguided and doesn't really factor in financial feasibility to her proposals.  

Recently, AOC took to Twitter in an attempt to paint the White House administration and more specifically Donald Trump as attempting to enact more legislation that is a crime against humanity.

While what she is saying is technically true, the Trump Administration is in fact, attempting to curtail pregnant women from traveling to the United States but this isn't because they are thinking women don't matter or anything sexist at all, it is because of a loophole in the USA laws that states that any child born in the United States is automatically a USA citizen.  

Only around 30 countries in the world recognize birthright citizenship and they include economic powerhouses such as Guyana, Fiji, and Tuvalu (and yes, that is an actual country.)  

AOC and the left-leaning media conveniently leave out the fact that the *entire directive* behind this legislation is to prevent foreigners from taking advantage of what has commonly become known as an "anchor-baby" situation where once the child is an American (by birthright) the rest of the family is now fast tracked for citizenship as well, even if they otherwise would not qualify for it.  

Why don't they tell the public this?  Well because doing so wouldn't make Trump and his team look like monsters and to highlight that there are actually agencies that specialize in "pregnancy tourism."   This program is openly advertised online and in print in foreign countries.

Of course there are a lot of people that point this out, including on AOC's own Twitter feed and reading through the comments on this particular Tweet pretty much embodies the political environment of today's America.  There are tons of people who are going to argue that this legislation is EVIL based solely upon the fact that Trump's team wants it.  

When the media is reporting on this, they will usually feature a picture of a pregnant minority in order to subconsciously convince their readers that there is some sort of racism built into the discussion even though that has nothing to do with it.

Others will bring in another, completely unrelated pro-life stance which if it is meant ironically, is funny.

This is dumb news because the media, when reporting on this, for the most part don't even mention what the ultimate objective is behind this proposed legislation because doing so might make some people out there understand that it kind of makes sense to stop people from circumventing the immigration procedure.  

On the dumb-o-meter this ranks pretty high because they intentionally only tell half the story to try to make people feel a certain way.
