Why I decided not to participate Power Up Challenge!

Why I have decided not to participate in the full power up of my steam articles, photographs etc for the next 30 days. This has nothing to do with me not believing in the Steem platform as I greatly do believe in it and I think that it has a great future as long as the community and everybody works together to provide a platform that is intriguing enough to attract others and solid enough to keep everybody around.

The main reason that I have decided to go with the 50/50 power up it's because I have decided that I want to diversify my Holdings and cryptocurrencies. My wife and I have recently begun talking about financial Independence and retiring earlier than the typical age. All we do enjoy working it is not necessarily something that we would do for free. This is a big reason why we save so much and invest so much and make sure that we maxed out our for 401 and 403 accounts and are Roth IRAs.

Steem is my first adventure in the cryptocurrencies world and unfortunately, with all of the money that we put into our traditional investment accounts, I have not had any free money of mine to invest directly into Steem. The past 2 months I've been writing here and taking any earnings from my posts and I have been powering up my steam power and I'm sitting here with roughly little under 2400. Since it has been 2 months I decided that it is time to maybe take a little bit of what I earn and start investing in some other cryptocurrencies. Diversification is typically a good way to make sure that everything you've earned and everything that you've invested does not go up and disappear Into thin air. Yes even with diversification it is possible that I could lose everything since inherently at least at this point cryptocurrency is much riskier than your typical Investments.

Overall for this community, it may not be the most popular thing to do. However, I believe for my wife and I this may be the best way to attempt to aid are retirement funds. I will continue to power up part of what I make here as I think it will greatly benefit the community especially with no potential changes that will come in the future.

I am also certain that if I get more involved with other cryptocurrency is if I ever short and make a decent profit I will definitely invest some of that back into Steem. I would love to have a bit more influence here and to be a bit and more helpful especially to new individuals on the site. I was lucky enough to gain the support of a lot of people that really made sticking around at the beginning much easier wind my post could have easily just been overlooked and ignored.

PS I am currently also powering down for one week because my DSLR camera broke and my wife and I needed to get fixed before we went on our trip. It wasn't unexpected expense that we were not expecting so we needed a little bit of cash to just kind of help out with this expense. not that I should have to explain myself but I'm sure some people look and would definitely be curious and I just wanted to clear it up so that I would not get questions about why I am powering down at the current moment.

PSS For those who are taking part in the 30-day PowerUp challenge I want to wish you the best of luck I look forward to reading all of your post and supporting as many of you as I can I hope that this month is extremely successful for you and I hope that the future beyond that continues to be a great success to all of you and that we can all 16 as people who I still considered to be early adopters of Steemit

Thanks for the concern. We did manage to get it fixed before our trip. It was about 2 months outside of the warranty and from I've researched it seemed to be a common problem with the camera :(
