I have been a long time gamer and I had always thought about going to Pax East. This year, my friends and I all decided to make the trip to Boston for it and I figured I would share some of the amazing experiences here.
First off, I would not recommend Grey Hound buses to get anywhere. I chose them because I am a cheap college kid, but really they are terribly cramped, hot, and poorly managed. I made it to CT stay the night at a friend's house so we could all leave in the morning, and thats where the real fun began
Fortunately, we arrived before the doors opened so we got to be some of the first people to step foot in the venue on day 1. It was jam packed from the first possible second and everyone was super excited to be there. When I checked the schedule, I was saddened to see that CD Projekt Red's Gwent booth would not be set up until the next day, and I only purchased a Friday ticket. I figured it would be no big deal because there are so many other great things to be seen there.

Excuse the vertical shots, but stepping under the welcome banner was an amazing feeling and I wanted to capture how many people were there so early in the morning.

The first thing we did as a group was to hit up the Bethesda booth to play the upcoming expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online. One of the friends I went with is perusing a game design degree and wants to work for Bethesda in the future. As luck would have it, one of his former teaching assistants from college was working at very booth, so my buddy got a surprise chance to meet and get his name in the minds of devs at Bethesda, so his day hit its peak and we weren't even an hour in!

The rest of the day up until the end was a whirlwind of booths, snapping photos to get free merch, and just plain getting free merch with no advertising required.

By pure happenstance, as we were walking out of the venture I saw a booth I had not previously, Gwent! As luck would have it, they decided on a whim to set up the day earlier. I jumped over and see what was up. While there I got a great photo of a Geralt cosplay (I am not in the photo)

All in all it was constant fun and I meet some of the nicest people I have ever seen. I am hoping to go next year and perhaps with better photo and storytelling skills when the time comes!
Thank you all and I would heartily recommend attending a PAX event if one is near you :)
