Someone asked me a question today and I was shocked....
She said why is it that when the prices of steem goes up, the votes for minnows reduce and they seem almost invisible? She further stressed that she was planning on leaving this weekend. I tried to talk her out of this, so if you are reading this, don't give up yet.
She gave a suggestion that was funny and at the same time useful. She said steemit should be restructured in some possible ways
- Steemit U.I. (She didn't use user interface but I knew what she was talking about) could have an option where you could nominate a minnow for trending daily and any minnow who has a substantial amount of nomination for trending would have his post examined by some trusted whales for approval or decline.
- Whales should not be allowed to recycle topics among themselves and still trend. She said how can four people talk about basically the same thing and still trend? It should be a first come first served.
- Other tags should be promoted.
- She said the trending page should be restructured such that instead of programming talks and tech stuffs that she and a lot of steemians do not understand, other topics should be encouraged to trend.
- She said steemit should find a way of checking how many minnows a week a whale or dolphin votes for, and those who refuse to vote should not trend after all, the minnows vote count too.
She listed some other things and as much as I wanted to relate to that or was relating to that, I saw someone who was frustrated at that point.
# I just had to be frank

I told her about my plight, how much I consume on data monthly and all that but I made her realize that she just had to play her part and let nature take it's course.
The painful part was when she told me she she wrote an article and was so desperate for votes that she had to messages some whales and dolphins with the link for them to vote. Long and short, she got flagged and worse part was someone stole her post according to her, and the person gained grounds (and probably a lot of rewards). She felt downtrodden and victimized
# Personality differences in man

So she said something that moved me: "They tell us to focus on writing good stuffs but they forget to focus on trying to read it" and that was not all, she said "the value of an upvote in the life of a minnow is greatly underestimated because some are so concerned with retaining their voting power that they forget the voting power being used on them too.
She realized that people forget that there are differences in individuals and not all can be computer and tech gurus and the system should create a balance such that when she looks at the trending page, she can at least find something she can relate with.

So I explained to her that even though she might be justified in her plight, she should realize steemit is relatively new and as such there is still restructuring going on. I told her that I foresaw a time when the competition for trending would be stiff, a time where she'll be at the top or in a position to effect change without causing disorderliness.
I asked her what the steemit vision meant to her and she told me.

# Why are minnows feeling abandoned?
Well quite frankly they have not been abandoned, people are generally busy with activities ranging from witnesses to trying to improve the blockchain. I told her to put herself out there like someone desperately waiting for a date.
Before I sign out, please tryb and give a minnow a vote and resteem from time to time, it will help. At one point whales too were minnows. I love steemit!
I know this is the part where you expect a name, sorry I won't say, perhaps you can guess
