ive been working around with the idea of getting a farm and installing solar panels so that we can have fresh food and have almost no energy consumption 

hopefully within the next 5 years itll be a reality

the Key is to go back to roots, in terms of trying to produce our own food, or just consume from local organic stores. This is a great post, and I hope this is a growing worldwide trend.

Awesome!! So many benefits of doing this, will be following you. Have grown some spinach, kale, beets & collard greens to make greenshakes straight from the garden. It's great to grow some food of your own, good for children too :)

Let's not forget **4. The Environment**: Eating food that was grown just next to the place where you consume it reduces your carbon footprint big time.  Further, growing organic garden provides habitat for more insects, birds and even small rodents than you can imagine. And last but not least it gives you the opportunity to make and use your own compost which is very beneficial for health of the soil and natural circling of nitrogen, carbon and other elements.
Growing your food gives you an intimate connection with the Earth that reflects on every aspect of your existence on this planet. You cannot overestimate its importance.

I too grow my own organic food! Not only is it rewarding, you know what you and your family are putting into your tummies.

ya totally agree its better to grow your own foods rather than depending on system.  if you have control over food you are free , if you cant grow your own food you are slave to system work from 9 to 5 just that you earn money to buy food and when you buy food mostly its unhealthy you not know how its grown as i have seen many videos in which farmers have claimed that  they  use oxytocin injection in vegetables.  Also who knows when food crises start like currency crash then you will be holding thousands of dollars in hand but will not be able to find a single tomato to buy it :) so its better to have control over food rather than depend on system.

Amazing, really. I am vegan and I eat mostly fruit and vegetables and I am trying to grow my own food. Unfortunately for me is really really hard because I live in London and it seems that the sun is really really shy cause it doesn't show up often :D :D The weather in this city doesn't help me and it is really frustrating :(

I just watched the Netflix movie, "Okja" and it was a great reminder of the benefit of knowing where our food comes from.  It is so crucial to personally health vitality and on the larger scale the environmental vitality.  I absolutely advocate knowing where your food comes from....loved your article and pics!
