The ecosystem of the woods is an amazing thing!

This tree fell last year during one of our windstorms we always seem to get in the winter time here in the Northwest.  You often find these types of fungi living on live standing trees as well, but this shows just what 'blossomed' this fall since the rains have begun.  The different textures are intriguing.  When you look up close and personal in the world in which we live, there are so many details we miss as we tower above the forest floor!  I like to imagine what it would be like were I that small.....
