Every day provides us with opportunities to celebrate.  Today I invite you to celebrate the Ukulele.

<center>**THE UKULELE**</center>

<center>It’s World Play the Ukulele Day!
You use your fingers to play. </center>

<center>Ukulele translates to “jumping flea.”
A silly name, most would agree. </center>

<center>Portuguese immigrants to Hawaii,
are credited with making the ukulele tiny. </center>

<center>It’s part of the Hawaiian culture,
the biggest supporter was no other, </center>

<center>than Kalakaua, Hawaii’s last king.
At royal performances, musician strummed the strings. </center>

<center>History aside,
musicians make it alive, </center>

<center>with fingers in place,
they add their musical taste. </center>

<center>The ukulele was Tiny Tim’s choice,
to accompany his falsetto voice. </center>

<center>Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole’s popularity did explode,
with his rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” </center>

<center>So, did you play,
a ukulele today? </center>

When I think about the Ukulele, Tiny Tim's "Tiptoe Through The Tulips," is the first song that comes to mind.
