**Whenever the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ, I am surprised by the way he acted and corrected his enemies. When they cornered him with questions and aggressions, he always responded with meekness and wisdom.**

"Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God."

Or "the pressure of the Pharisees when they wanted to stone the adulterous woman", they pressed again and again, while Jesus full of meekness and total control wrote on the ground!

He who is free from sin, throw the first stone! It was his wise response without despair.

**My dear brothers, there is a role model**

It is the person and the life of Christ who makes of the Beatitudes and of the whole sermon of the mountain something more than a splendid ethical utopia; makes it a historical realization, from which each one can take strength for the communion that unites him to the person of the Savior.

A Bible teacher told me once,

"The Beatitudes are the self-portrait of Jesus, we need to look at him and see how he lived them."

The gospels are, from end to end, the demonstration of the meekness of Christ, in a double aspect: of humility and patience. He proposes himself as a model of meekness.

Matthew 11.29 "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart;"

His entry into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey is seen as an example of a "meek" king who flees from any idea of ​​violence and war. The ultimate proof of the meekness of Christ is surely given at the moment of his passion. On the cross Jesus showed no anger, no threat.

The Apostle Peter says something revealing about that moment: "Insulted, he did not respond with insults, when he suffered, he did not threaten" (1 Peter 2:23).

> For to this you were called; because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his footsteps; who did not sin, nor was deceit found in his mouth; who, when cursed, did not respond with a curse; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but entrusted the cause to the one who judges righteously; who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we, being dead to sins, may live to righteousness; and by whose wound you were healed.
(1 Peter 2: 21-24)

This characteristic of the meekness found in the person of Christ was engraved so deeply in the heart and soul of his disciples, that the apostle Paul, in exhorting the Corinthians of something dear and sacred, says: "I beg of you for the meekness and gentleness of Christ "(2 Corinthians 10: 1).

When we look at Jesus we see the meekness being lived in all the moments of life. It is necessary to perceive that there was no lack of moments to lose the meekness in the teacher's trajectory, nevertheless he lived completely what he spoke and believed.

There are those who associate meek to: weak or cowardly, which in reality is an error, is a wrong perspective, if we look in the book of Number says:

"And the man Moses was very meek, more than all the men that were on earth." Num. 12: 3

Moses was very meek, but if we "study" his life we ​​do not see a weak or cowardly man, as an example he faced the Pharaoh of Egypt, he faced the walk in the desert. Moses was meek, but he showed well his courage and his strength.

The meek is someone who gave his ways to the Lord, who hopes and trusts in the Lord, is someone who does not indulge in anger or anger, is someone who seeks peace and doing good, and will be co-heir in Christ of the Kingdom of heaven.
