Actifit, programming and daily ramblings: September 18 2019

Oh look, it's Elizabeth Tower!

![](https://usermedia.actifit.io/ef08275b-7b66-4c81-b706-7ff1708a7c8e)
Wow, you must think!
It's not really the real Elizabeth Tower but an elaborate 3d puzzle! Oh joy, wasnt that exciting!

Managed to snag me a few 3d puzzle things a while back, dare I say it they are actually quite fun!

So far, I've been working away since this morning, learning A.I and programming. I finally realize why I hated programming so much when I was a kid, because it's as fun as getting bitten on the ass by a giant ant!
Some people love it but some people also love BDSM. I just aint one of those people!

It's an ends to a means, I will plug away but I have no love for programming.😵

Apart from losing my will to live via programming, I went for a walk. 4-ish miles maybe 5. (School kids where everywhere for a change) so I didn't take any photos in case the police mistook things and took me for a cavity search.
It seems like my core muscles may have finally healed, if all goes well, then I shall return to weight training this week, spend about 5 weeks doing light training then building up. I really hope that I get my ear ebola/aids problem fixed next week and resume long walks and runs.

Saying that, what books are you guys reading? I'm trying to branch out into different fields and am looking for interesting things, be it about history or science but something outwith my normal areas. I've been reading about the crusades, A.i, Engineering, material science and it's bored me to death.
What are you guys reading?😀

I hope that you've had a good week and have not died or became lost in time

Just finished the Butchering Art by Lindsey Fitzharris. A short and interesting history of surgery as if moved from a last resort and deadly towards the antiseptic methods we see today. Definitely not something I should have been reading at dinner as a few descriptions were... overly disgusting. But interesting.

Sounds fascinating, I think that learning about such events is very important. It helps to give context.
I'll check out your book in a few months time as it sounds pretty interesting... I'll try not to faint with the gore parts :P.

On a similar track, I read a book called "Our Molecular Future: How Nanotechnology, Robotics, Genetics and Artificial Intelligence Will Transform Our World" ( try saying that in a hurry) by Douglas Mulhall. It touched on nanotech and medicine. Very interesting book but a bit on the optimistic side as it was written 17 years ago and few of its predictions have came to fruition. But a good techie book that doesnt try to kell you by maths.

Are there any books that you could recommend about the history of Montana as I really dont know that much about the history of the area. I while back I ordered a copy of "U.S constitution for dummies" as it is such a beacon of freedom in todays world. Kinda reminds me a wee bit of the Declaration of Arbroath
"It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."
Extract from the Declaration of Arbroath, 1320.

Anyway, I've began to ramble once again :P Thanks for the book recommendation though :D

To get a feel for what Montana was like when it became a state I recommend The War of the Copper Kings. It has all the corruption and shenanigans of that time period covered. And it's legacy of Superfund sites and severe distrust of politicians is a part of the state even today.

I am always disappointed when the future tech predicted in books takes decades longer to appear. On the opposite side is reading books written in the 90s and set in the near future. Nobody predicted the concepts of smartphones and bluetooth and internet very well.
