The Bible is not given to satisfy our curiosity about scientific, philosophical or theological questions.

It is given to show us who God is and how we can come to know, love and please Him. 

**DEUTERONOMY 29:29**
> The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. Vs. 29

If we read the Bible in this way with reverence to God and understanding then we shall find that God speaks through it to us daily.

**John 20:30-31**
> And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: Vs. 30
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. Vs. 31


We know God spoke to man, but how did he speak?

**HEBREWS 1:2**
> God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Vs. 1
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Vs. 2

This scripture informs us that He spoke to the Father and the Prophets in many ways. 

A careful examination of the Bible reveals at there are different means which God can communicates to man.

We simply cannot tell how God communicated His revelation to more than forty human authors of the Bible, maybe He could have used anyone or a combination of these ways of communication I will be sharing with us today. From this, we can get to examine ourselves if God speaks to us and what ways those He communicate to you.

- **God spoke thorough angels.**
**LUKE 2:8-10**
> And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.Vs. 8
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. Vs. 9
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Vs. 10

- **God spoke to men through a loud voice**
**JOSHUA 1:1-2**
> Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying, Vs. 1
Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. Vs. 2

- **God spoke to men through a still small voice.**
**1 KINGS 19:11-2**
> And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: Vs. 11
And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. Vs. 12

- **God spoke to men through nature.**
**PSALMS 19:1-3**
> The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Vs. 1
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. Vs. 2
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Vs. 3

- **God spoke to men through dreams**.
**1 KINGS 3:5**
> In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. Vs. 5

- **God spoke to men through visions.**
**GENESIS 46:2**
> And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. Vs. 2

- **He spoke to one man through the mouth of an ass**
**NUMBERS 22:28**
> And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times? Vs. 28

God still speaks to people today and He speaks to you maybe you've not been paying attention to your surroundings, dreams, visions and the rest or maybe you don't see it necessary to hear Him speak to you. As a child, we are supposed to hear the voice of our father when He calls. 

Only when we yearn for Him that He reveals Himself to us.
