***Step 1:What are Plant Pests?***

Pests are those small animals, insects and even birds that destroy farm crops both in farms and at storage soil. These pests feed on various parts of the crops.

- Pest like grasshoppers, locusts, caterpillars, snails and some beetles attack the leaves.

- Rodents, monkeys and termites feed on tubers, bulbs and seeds.
- Bats, Bugs, Birds and some other insects destroy the mature fruits and seeds by piercing through them like maize, millet, tomatoes and okra.
