This is basically what I have been doing for the past two days, and quite happy doing so. When I really get into knitting, I can pretty much do it for 6 hours straight with only bathroom breaks and getting more tea. This is the result of about 10 hours if knitting, and by yesterday evening I was only missing thumbs, which is the part I hate doing and that is why I don’t make mittens often. 

I usually do simpler knits and freehand patterns as I go, but I wanted to challenge myself and actually follow a Fair Isle knitting pattern for mittens. Fair Isle knits are the most beautiful ones in the world, but somehow I’ve strayed away from them. I was surprised that I knit actually pretty fast even when following a pattern and I’m really happy with the results. 

I was feeling for something super bright and went for a rainbow yarn, instead of traditional earth tones. I think these will turn out pretty wild and fun, and so did a friend of mine who immediately called DIBS on these when he saw a preview on my instastories.

Now I just need to make the thumbs.
