It is interesting to observe the periods of my creativity, looking through own photo archive. At first I photographed everything in all genres (I didn't even know the word genre) and published everything. Then I started photographing only landscape and architecture and sorting the photos when publishing. Now I shooting everything again, but in certain genres or styles, and very rigidly select photos for publication.

I used to be able to bring back five average photos or even less from a small trip. Now I will bring at least one worthy photo and half a hundred average. Experience.

Over time, the attitude towards everything changes: towards photography, towards life...

Photography is not doing very well nowadays...its value is minimal.

To confirm this, it is enough to compare the sold volume of memory cards now and ten years ago. There are currently 1Tb memory cards, and I started with 4GB. From one working trip, I bring an average of 1500-2000 images. The mileage on my working camera has already exceeded a million shutter releases!

I have long wanted to mention the survivability of the Canon 6d. In winter, I checked the shutter mileage using a special software (EOS Utility) and at that time it was 890k frames. On my own same camera, only 140k.

I will say a few words about the lenses, or rather about their focal lengths.

I have always been drawn to the wide corner since the film era. Apparently this was due to the inaccessibility of special optics.

At one time I dabbled in Soviet optics on digital. This is also understandable: there are many left from the film times and there was no replacement. But when I switched to autofocus lenses, I sold all the old stuff without regret.

I am not a collector and I am not burdened with nostalgia for the old days. I love to keep up with the times and use it in photography. For me a camera and lenses are a tool and I strive for convenience.

And all the "Ls" are not show-offs, but a means of obtaining a high-quality picture. By the way, I used to dream of them as something unattainable and effective. Now I don't even think about what I hold in my hand and how others look at me. Probably no one will be surprised by a large black camera with a long white lens with red line. Although partly for the sake of show-off, I once bought myself the first Canon 5d full frame.

Now I love the versatile 24-105mm lens. It is enough for 90% of plots, and for the second I carry 100-400 mm.

For shooting courtyards at night I use 17-35 mm, and the second I carry 24-105. That's the whole set. The rest is not needed at all. I don't even know which lens would surprise me. But I knew before.
Now the moment has come when I have had all the photographic diseases and plunged into filming. It's good when nothing distracts. I wish everyone to come to this state.
