@exyle, any thoughts on why maintaining this blockchain is so expensive?

It's a good price to buy, I'm worried about the future of Steem in a way I have never been before though.

the problem is that steem inc is trying to focus on the blockchain part -In my opinion it would be better if they focus on the social media aspect and support small content creators -  I am not using steem to pay bills or buy things I use it as a social media platform and I think this is a missed opportunity when they shift the focus away  -*edit*

If you remember, at the beginning of the year I was commenting on your posts about the early 2017 tremendous opportunity that a lot of people had when Steem was at 7 cents, my mentality hasn’t changed a bit. I’m waiting on the sidelines for Ned’s livestream to have some other details on their plan, then I’ll probably buy more Steem.

Steem is at the price where everyone will look to buy more and more now they wanted it cheap and its now here

**I remember nicely** :)) , when the price was at the top, many was say and wanted that steem to be back in a few cents  price that they can buy all up lot.
So now we are there ... And you all can now buy it up. 
And I have said it here on steemit a lot ... if I have more money **I buy now** ... it is not important how low it is now going, I believe the next rise that after this winter will come... it will come very, very unexpectedly. 
All market prices are currently as large barrels of gunpowder that can explode any time. 

This what I see... I not can say I know all... but this price not just here but on all the market is very low ... and it makes me feel like this what I was say .

I have been watching the prices pretty intently, waiting for it to hit the level at which I feel comfortable putting some more money in.  I think there is too much development across the board for Steem and other cryptos to just fade away.

I bought some more.  Its more than halved from the price I last bought at but I'm finding it too hard to resist :)

If I would still work now I would have bought me in to a dolphin. haha. Well I hope you have the beeping sound solved. I will give every one of my family an account. During christmas. I thought it was more then 40.000 active users? I have read somewhere 1 million? Where can I see that online?

This is why controlling spam from the steem blockchain is so important.  Blockchain bloat isn't a problem at $8 steem, at 20 cents the calculus changes I guess...

In a way I see steempower of a form of *masternode* to a degree. 
Make sure you stack as much as possible.

I know literally zero people who want to sell their STEEM for less than a dollar. 
Zero. Everyone I know is trying to scrape together every fiat cent they can get their hands on; to buy in and power up.
This means the sellers aren't people I know. They're not from here. 
They don't know what we know; they don't see what we see. 
STEEM is just another red or green candle to them. Another acronym on CMC.
Let's take them. 
Let's take them for every single token they dump on the market.
