*So, we've made it. Finally, the battle to end all battles took place at **Winterfell** where the white walkers, led by the original bad ass himself, **The Night King**, charged the castle. The action was literal televisual gold. From the slow build up to the siege itself, from the dragons battling each other to the terrified screams of all the characters we know and love. It was an epic production from start to finish. Why then, is it also one of the worst **GoT** episodes I've ever seen?*

Since season one, the ominous dread of the "white walkers" has been looming over our heads. "Winter is coming" being the actual slogan of the entire series. Yet, their involvement in **Westoros** is merely a cheap side plot story. There was such potential to flesh out more about who the "The Night King" actually is and learn more about his unexplained lore and motives. And now we may never know, as **Arya** is fast becoming the central focus of this rapidly closing saga. So much so that she manages to slip past the hoards of white walkers encircling him and **Bran**, only to somehow leap out of the darkness and plunge a dagger into his belly. Thus killing him and all his armies in one fell swoop. When only moments ago, she was crawling around on all fours and gets discovered when a drop of her blood hits the ground. These walkers got some real heightened senses, right? Makes no damn sense at all.

It gets worse as, apparently, the once welcomed unpredictable nature of the show, is now toast. There were several moments in the episode where **Jon, Brienne, Jamie** and **Sam**, are dead. Placed in impossible situations where death is the only way out. Yet, because plot devices must carry them forward onto the next upcoming **Cersei** battle, they become unkillable. Certain scenes had the walkers writhing up against **Sam** with arms flailing in the air, yet not really doing anything else by the looks of it. Suddenly the threat they posed outside the castle walls, was negated completely once inside. What the hell?

Also, the death of all those "Dothraki" at the start, as well as the "Unsullied". We've had a grandiose historical journey with them all throughout the seasons, being freed by **Daenerys** and making their way overseas to help reclaim her throne back. So much more could have been done with them. But no, running into the darkness *(which, might I add, was one of the most ridiculous strategical decisions ever made)* only to then get decimated in under a minute. What in the world in going on? **George**, help us out please!

*This only skims the surface of the problems that are beginning to manifest in this show, without **Mr. Martin's** invaluable source material to go by. Damn, I've been so invested all these years and the payoff is getting slaughtered! I'm starting not to care about any of them getting to the iron throne now and that's a huge problem. From what I've read, many others feel the same. The script writers should be shot. God know what's in store next, but after this travesty, I've not got my hopes up.*
