Steemit is one of a kind and can be used as a means of eradicating poverty, depending on how well it is maximized. 


As a steemian, it is very vital to understand the main purpose for the establishment of this platform, which is to enable you earn from your creativity, steemit has made it possible for everyone to earn from sharing their knowledge and experience, escaping the hassle of doing tedious or criminally inclined professions, so let us maximize this opportunity and make good use of it. 


**Promoting steemit**: I think we should all have the habit of promoting steemit wherever we find ourselves and also inviting friends/family because introducing people to Steemit is introducing them to a source of income. More income means there would be less crime and poverty in the society. As we all know, all steemit requires from us is our creativity and nothing more, don't keep this platform away from a friend/family just because you don't see their ability to create a good content. They don't have to be a blogger or a professional dancer or singer and so on, invite them and let them showcase the little talent they've got. Steemit doesn't only help us earn, it helps us learn, invite as much people as you can with time they will learn to understand it like we all did.

**Talking about whales**: well, I see posts of people complaining all the time saying "whales don't upvote them", "whales are partial and self centered", "whales are not encouraging" and so on. My question now is are you posting quality contents?, you can't post irrelevant contents and expect them to upvote you. Steemit is not a joke, we shouldn't just go about posting insensible contents and get angry when you don't get a reasonable upvote. I think we should all endeavor to post quality contents so as to impress them and get their attention, let your post be so good that they can't resist upvoting you. I would also like to urge whales to work on scouting for good and quality contents made by minnows and upvote at least one of these post each day, this would stand as an encouragement to keep posting quality content, to remain on the platform and would also serve as an encouragement to upvote others. By doing this we are helping each other earn which is a good start to tackling poverty. 

In my own point of view, I think all it takes is team work and cooperation. Help others so others can help you, we can all help each other in one way or the other. With this we can tackle poverty and take steemit to the next level.
