The decision to reroute the Explorers was received well by my crew. I'm monitoring the [Galactic Map](https://steemweb.pl/statistics/next-colony?s=map) constantly, and the other colonies are indeed closing in fast. The Commodore sent us another **Explorer II** so that we can intensify our explorations into the **Delta Ring**. The other *Genesis Starbases* are gradually building up more skills and resources, and I'm continuing to learn a lot as my days as Captain progress forward.

I'm very fortunate to have access to the logs of former Captain Curione, and current Captain Davis of [Starbase Genesis1](https://nextcolony.io/planet/P-Z2U5ATL1JLC), as well as the logs of Captain Dixon of [Starbase Genesis2](https://nextcolony.io/planet/P-ZZLXVXMEP5C). I try to communicate with my former Chief Science Officer as often as I can; he remains a great mentor, as well as an excellent fountain of galactic information. He says that he is hearing a good bit of what he calls *subspace chatter* concerning the possible arrival of more blueprints for new battleships. Sounds exciting! I asked him to let us know as soon as he gathers more concrete intel.

With so many exploration missions going out daily, we're bound to find another planet soon. More than likely, I will ask Commodore Curione to either send another Captain to establish the new Starbase, or to leave it running on automatic until a crew can be assembled from *Genesis1 or 2*. I'm just getting to know my crew, and have yet to experience, more deeply, the role of Captain. I'm not ready to become a Commodore. Besides, Commodore Curione is more than capable of handling 4 Starbases. The problem will arise when we reach 5; but that's for another day. *Jack Steel out!*
