Mill Ends Park: World’s Smallest Park

<p>Located in the median strip of a parkway, downtown Portland, the United States, Mill Ends Park according to the Guinness Book of World Records as of 1971, is the smallest park in the world measured only two feet in diameter (more like a flower pot ), the locals have been celebrating this tiny 452-square inches hole of earth as the world’s smallest park.<br>
The site was originally scheduled for a light pole, The park was created when the light pole failed to appear so a local Irish Dick Fagan, a columnist for the Oregon Journal, decided to take matters into his own hands, Fargan planted flowers in the tiny space, naming it 'Mill Ends' after his column in Oregon's Journal.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Fagan wrote a popular pillar called Mill Ends, and he started describing the park using this column.Fagan was the first to call the space the "World's Smallest Park." Two years later, The park was dedicated, in 1948, on St. Patrick's Day.</p>
