Yummy Nan Khatai recipe by Fari...

I have decided to try cooking and I wonder I am getting better day by day....

Today I cooked Nan Khatai. Nankhatai are shortbread biscuits popular in India and Pakistan. The word Nankhatai is derived from Persian word Naan meaning bread and "Khatai" from an Afghan word meaning Biscuit. 

Here's the recipe of Nan Khatai....

<b>Ingredients:</b>

 2 cup flour
1cup ghee(<i> I used desi ghee</i>)
1cup grinded sugar
1/2 tsp elachi powder
3 tbsp besan 
1/2 tsp baking soda 
1/4 tsp baking powder 

<b>Method:</b>

Mix ghee and sugar gently until creamy white. Sieve through all dry ingredients then mix in ghee mixture....  Add Elachi powder to it and make a dough with it.... Then make shape of khatai and bake at 180 C for 15 minutes or until light brown from sides.... 

One more thing is brush all khatai with egg yolk and put some nuts on it before baking..... After baking, let it cool then it  will become crispy.... 

Don't touch them when they are hot, otherwise it will break...
