As you may know, my home state of Florida is dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. The cell lines are jammed and we have no power. As a prepper, no power is no biggie! We have food, water, and alternative cooking methods. What I cant do right now, though, is upload videos. So give me a day or two and I will have that I hope. 

Irma's path was erractic and irregular. Nobody really knew what would happen once she left Cuba. Fortunately, large systems become really unstable as they inflict their pain over land. She began to wobble once leaving Cuba and just couldnt build her eyewall quite right again. So she hits the Florida Keys as a Cat 4 and still cannot strengthen over the suana of the Gulf. Then, she hits southwest Florida near Naples and gets REAL angry, but in her temper tantrum, rolls too far inland and begins to break up. That was bad news for the south, but great news for us as she sped North towrds Orlando and weakened. 
Now dont get me wrong, this storm was a Cat 1 when it hit us and it sounded like we were in the spin cycle of a washer outside. But we MIRACULOUSLY, even after wind gusts of 100mph and 37 tornado warnings, lost not one of our livestock! More on that in a day or two. 

No damage to our home besides a leaky chimney. I am cooking over a rocket stove and we have plenty of food and water. Thank you for the prayers and words of encouragement! It does help to know that others have your back!

Florida is going to have aome needs for awhile. May I suggest that you donate straight to individuals, known church groups, local food pantries, and animal shelters. I have not seen or heard of even ONE large disaster group showing up to our very rural area with water or anything else. Quite frankly, I'm underwhelmed by our local government response (not shocked, just disappointed) . The electric crews are working round the clock it seems, but there are ao many trees down that the job of clearing them all is slowing things down.
