How important is proper grammar on musing.io?

It's very important. It will be difficult, if not impossible, to be understood if you write answers and questions that have too many grammar and spelling mistakes.

You're right. It's bad form and it lowers the quality of the site if there are too many spelling and grammar mistakes, especially on the frontpage. It could turn off new users and affect the level of engagement in the site. A minor mistake here and there wouldn't make much of a difference. The goal, after all, is to be understood. But, if you have too many grammar mistakes, then it will be very difficult to get your point across and your answer or question will be misunderstood, if not completely ignored.

This is actually stated in Musing.io's curation guidelines. You can read it here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WKYGhdPhLKNHytsxAPPQiXyv5UBY6nUKM8IhG5PUgfA/edit

So, its a challenge for both the curators and users like us. I'm sure the curators have a way to filter the poorly written answers and questions. However, as users, it's up to us to make sure we do our best to write well-written answers and questions. And, at the very least, run whatever we write through a spell and grammar check before hitting the submit button.

How important is proper grammar on musing.io?

Appropriate grammar and punctuation are certainly very important in writing questions or writing answers in musing.io. Because proper grammar allows readers to understand your question or answer. And I think, this thing needs to be remembered by anyone who wants to write a question or answer as a contribution in musing.io. So that the results are accurate and accurate.

Once again I explain that without good grammar and correct use of punctuation, your question or answer has no meaning.

How important is proper grammar on musing.io?

Since Musing.io is a Q n A platform, I'm gonna break down my opinions into two parts.

For Questions: I strongly think that questions should be direct, clear, have a good sentence structuring and free of typos as much as possible. I have been a witness to many answers wherein they totally misunderstood the whole question due to a simple typo in it.

A good example for this would be if someone ask "How to get Steam?" - I'm a gamer and my first understanding would be Steam as in the digital video platform and not Steem the blockchain. This makes my answer totally off. As much as possible, people should double check first their question to avoid any future misunderstandings.

For Answers: I for one think that as long as the whole answer is understandable, then it is okay. The whole point of answers is to help and give an opinion, thought and information about something. So as long as that idea is delivered correctly to the one asking the question, then that's all that matters.

I agree with @jlordc, there should be leeway given for grammar mistakes in answers, but questions should always be clear and concise. Given the fact that questions take far less time to write, it shouldn't be too much to ask that question writers double check thier spelling and grammar and even research thier question to make sure that it is clear and free of misunderstanding.
I think doing this will improve the over all quality for everyone on musing.io and we will all benefit.
