Steem Plant Contest: Plants in my home

The plant here is called the Red Ixora coccinea hedge is has different names ranging from jungle geranium, flame of the woods or jungle flame. It is a flowering plant usually planted around homes and offices beacause of the anesthetic value it adds to it's environment.

Red Ixora coccinea has green leaves while the flowers are always red which makes it more beautiful and that explains the name flame of the woods
It is a shrub so it can grow so high at most 4 to 6 feets. It is always evergreen.

This plant is really common in my country, Nigeria although it's also very common in places like India, Sri Lanka and southeast Asia .

The Red Ixora coccinea is very common flowering plant, and it's not difficult to cultivate, I have planted it a few times. All you need is a stem from the plant, plant it and make sure you water it well. Trust me this plant would blossom well.

One of the reasons why I love this plants is because it doesn't attract some insect and its usually not damaged by insects. I really admire how the plant grows, it is has many branches, thick roots and it's spreads well. It takes time to grow to form the hedges but once it grows so just have to trim to maintain the plant.
