Today I bring you a publication dedicated to an artist dedicated to making works with Asian techniques and childish strokes, was the precursor of many movements emerged from many works of the author. I'm talking about Pierre Alechinsky, accompany me to discover a little the life and work of this excellent artist.

Pierre Alechinsky was born in Belgium in 1927, since he was a child he already had a wide admiration for painting, he prepared academically but did not succeed so in 1935 he decides to make art, and in 1944 Alechinsky studies at the National School of Architecture and Decorative Arts where once graduated he begins his artistic career in 1948 is co-founder of the artistic group Cobra being the premise of what would be the abstract expressionist art.

Pierre Alechinsky begins to realize works between techniques in painting and recording, his style is very active within the community what quickly positions him, also he feels very attracted by the surrealist art using in some cases this type of art as muse.

The complementary work that would sustain him was based on the illustration of books and works dedicated to typography.

The group cobra disintegrates in 1951 and decides to move to Paris to continue studying new techniques in engraving, and quickly enters the artistic life of Paris getting to know other artists such as Bram van Velde, Victor Brauner to name a few, in the same city is where he presents his first non-collection exhibition for the year 1954.

By the year 1960, he managed to travel to other European countries such as England, Italy and then comes his international projection when he travels to New York. Thus during that decade until 1970, he enjoyed an impeccable artistic trajectory, by the 80s he begins his stage as an art educator in the National Superior School of Fine Arts of Paris and by 1955 some of his designs were minted in government stamps in his native country.

In his works you can appreciate many influences of oriental art, some cognitive techniques that emulate children's strokes and the famous cave images that are the oldest pictorial legacy in Europe, also appreciates the intense use of college so his works are the fusion of many techniques in one, this gave his personal seal that lasts until these days.

Sometimes he talks about his art titling it as fantastic expressionism because it includes a great part of expressionism with writing elements.

Pierre Alechinsky is now alive and at his fabulous 91 years, he continues to paint and make recordings and illustrations for commissioned books. Some of his free illustrating participations have been for some of the 20th-century French writers, such as Michel Butor, Roger Caillois and Jean Tardieu.

His style and technique have varied very little over the years, and he continues to use materials such as oil, acrylics and his famous notes in the margins of some of his paintings.

Among his most famous works are present in some museums such as the Fine Arts Museums in San Francisco, United States and the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid.

He has had individual exhibitions in the Wittockania Library in Brussels, and in many European countries as well as in the great American continent.

His art seems inexhaustible like his age, hopefully, this artist will continue to create, is a living legend that has inspired many artists around the world.
