 I got the two [Rhibes californicum](https://www.calflora.org/cgi-bin/species_query.cgi?where-calrecnum=7107) plants about 5 years ago in the mountains south of Yosemite where I grew up. They were near the Fresno Dome campground at about 6000 ft elevation. I brought them home to Washington and have had them in the ground since. It has only been the last couple years that the plants have put off substantial growth and are now flowering a lot more. In my childhood yard there are still a couple of the bushes that are nearly 40 years old and are huge. I am just happy that mine are established, make it thru winters, and are still growing. 4 different types of gooseberry in 10 plants should give us a nice variety of berries when ripe.
