<b><center><h1>Like little jets whipping around the yard</h1></center>

The past week I have been seeing a group of [Violet-green Swallow](http://www.birdweb.org/birdweb/bird/violet-green_swallow) zipping around the farm in occasional formations of 2 or 4 but often singly. Swallows are very distinct in their flight habit and their form so when I saw them I knew right away. They are a pretty small bird and have taken a liking to the house and all the bugs that the eaves, siding, overhangs, and any nook or cranny hold. The ladder has also proved an interesting draw for them as they keep searching the holes in the rungs for bugs. 

This morning as I sat here at my computer they landed on the light string just outside the window right next to me. They sat there about 5 feet from me and I was able to open the window slowly and then able to get a number of shots of this pair. The male is the brighter white belly on the left. They both flitted around in the porch and got bugs from everywhere they could find.

The birds are not timid and seem comfortable around me in the yard. They land on things right nearby and watch me work. The great part is that they are eating shit tons of bugs. Every time they are whizzing around the pine trees and through the yard they are out catching bugs.

This is the only flight shot I have so far of one which is not the best focus but still shows the form of the bird nicely. This is as it launched from the side of the ladder where it was browsing the holes for bugs.
