 I know that most of you don't want to hear this; but, you should stop being snarky and insisting that you don't understand why anybody would vote for Trump. That's not a good way to virtue signal. Really, I see statements like that and I'm usually pretty sure that you get your news from Trevor Noah. There are good reasons why good people decided to vote for Trump. Let's examine a few. Well, he's the first president in my lifetime to not start another foreign war and he scaled back our military involvement in wars that we inherited from previous administrations. He passed legislation rolling back mandatory minimum sentencing laws while the opposing ticket had a vice presidential candidate who personally sent more than a thousand people to prison for nonviolent drug offenses. He passed the Right to Try act which is a clearly good law that saw no movement under the Obama administration. Prior to Covid, we saw a huge economic upturn. Despite Trump being as bad as one can get on immigration policy and rhetoric, we've deported far fewer people than any recent administration. Do I like Trump? No. Do I understand why people voted for him? Yes. Do I understand why people voted for Biden? Yes. It's not that hard to understand why people vote for snakes. To vote is to vote for a snake. That's why I usually don't vote. How do you enthusiastically support president booby fondler over president pussy grabber? How to you support the guy who wants to have flag burners lose their citizenship over the guy who wants draconian, unconstitutional hate speech laws? How do you enthusiastically support the former vice president of an administration that killed tens of thousands of people in the Middle East and drone bombed a fucking wedding over a guy who has finally started to pull back on the wars? I can get how you make that decision. What I don't get is the fucking enthusiasm.
