This was one of those games I only could play when my mother was not at home.

What looks laughable now was really impressive back in the days.

The story was pretty simple.

You play as a traveler who comes by this village just to find out it is populated by different kind of monsters.

Especially one beast is unkillable first and hunts you through the differnt buildings.

The game was pretty open so you could see a lot of the village right away. Of course some parts you had through unlock with solving riddles.

The riddles were simple but young me still never beat the game.
For example to enter a small castle near the village you had to read from the bible to proof the guards you are human and worth saving.

A little girl was screaming for her teddy bear and when you brought it to her she was opening a door for you (if I recall right).

It was also the first game I ever heard of which had multiple endings, a good one and a bad one. Of course with modern games this is pretty much standard now but was really cool back then.

Players as well as critics were pretty impressed by the game and there was a second part which I never played though.
