Your body is like a machine that works 24 hours a day, for a lifetime. If there is a literal machine that operates like that, you probably know that it must be taken good care of in order to remain operational. In the midst of the many things we need to do, we might forget to care for our body by resting. Life is full of problems that push us to over work our body. Literarily, many employees work excessively. Others work through the weekends and holidays. They usually suffer burnout if nothing is done. But to keep our body strong, we need to rest from time to time. Here are s3 benefits of taking rest from work.

**1. Its good for the mind:** Our mind - like other parts of the body - is constantly at work. Even while we sleep, the mind wanders and goes through a lot. So imagine the amount of thoughts processed by our mind when we are awake. Taking some rest recharges the mind and clears up some of the stress we undergo. It allows the mind to sort out trash from value. How do you feel after a good night's sleep? The mind feels fresh and clean to start a new day. In the same we, resting helps our mind to reduce its load and give us a clean slate to work with.

**2. Its good for your overall well-being:** Not just the mind, but our entire body system benefits from rests. In the case of those that do physically demanding jobs, rest enables the muscles to heal from strain and tear. This prevents muscle related injuries from happening. Rest is also good for the heart. It enables the heart to beat at a normal rate, reducing the chances of illnesses related to stress from affecting the heart.

Rest is the key to having a newer body and mind to face fresh challenges. Taking a good rest helps you avoid mistakes, injuries or even death. Just check your body and see if you need more rest. If you do, you will get more power and energy to push ahead.
