#### Dear friends of Steemit, lovers of Italian football,
Almost without realising it, we have reached the end of the first half of the season, the time limit that awards the platonic title of winter champion to the team at the top of the table. Statistically speaking, those who have finished in the lead in the first half of the season in the past have managed to bring home the Scudetto seven times out of ten, with **Juventus** leading this particular classification, winter champion 28 times already.
However, things are not looking as rosy for the Bianconeri this year as they did in the previous nine championships, and this year the title has fallen to **Milan**, who, despite the ugly home defeat to **Atalanta** (0-3), can still count on a two-point lead over their city rivals **Inter**, having ended the first half of the championship with an enviable 43 points.

Despite the fact that the first nineteen games have been led by the Rossoneri almost all with a result capable of moving the ranking, in my personal opinion the team of **Pioli** has achieved more than all expectations in a round in which things have almost always turned out right. The **Milan** project, based on young talents with the help of old foxes such as **Ibrahimovic** and **Mandzukic** in attack, is certainly interesting and, if developed with confidence (perhaps by a more successful coach) can lead the Rossoneri team to excel in the short or medium term, but as things stand it is likely that in the second half of the season the team will pay the price for its inexperience and the trembling of the legs that will easily intensify in view of the final.
Sometimes the enthusiasm and the unscrupulousness are not enough, and in the challenge against the well-tested **Atalanta**, a team almost unstoppable when in day of grace, **Milan** seemed suddenly put in front of the limits of a good level staff, but still not equipped for important goals.
The opposite is true for **Inter**, which can count on the most complete and high quality team of the championship, but which continues to make a series of false steps, sometimes inexplicable, which are responsible for the missed link to the top of the ranking.
Also in Udine, at the moment of truth, **Inter** got lost for the umpteenth time in the season, staging an opaque performance well below its potential, seen at full strength in the previous round in the victorious match against **Juventus**. When a team has the best staff, but struggles to be at the top of the league and, on top of that, is badly eliminated from the European competitions, maybe we should start to question the goodness of a coach like **Conte**, overpaid, but probably also overestimated.
Unlike what will happen to **Milan**, who with a second or third place would have had a season above expectations anyway, losing this Scudetto for **Inter** would mean total failure, by virtue of the sums spent in the market and the aforementioned elimination in the **Champions League**, with **Conte** probably invited to leave.

That's something that won't happen to **Paulo Fonseca** at Roma for the time being, saved by a goal from captain **Lorenzo Pellegrini** in injury time in the second game of the week against **Spezia**, after the six-substitution botch that saw the Giallorossi eliminated from the **Coppa Italia**. However, **AS Roma** continues to show evident defensive problems (there are already 32 goals conceded by the Giallorossi in the championship with an average of more than 1.5 per game) and a tactical organisation that is still uncertain; thanks to the good quality of the team, they can certainly reach the qualification for the **Champions League**, but it will be very difficult to enter the Scudetto fight, also considering the fact that Roma have not been able to beat any of the first nine teams in the standings.
After the victory in the **Supercoppa**, **Juventus** of **Andrea Pirlo** scored three points, but the score of 2-0 could suggest an easier game than it really was. After finding the goal in the first quarter of an hour, punctuated by the goodness of the Bianconeri's gameplay, the team left the field to the opponent's counter-attacks and **Bologna**, especially in the second half, went close to the equalizing goal, before suffering the goal of **McKennie** that closed the game definitively.

Both against **Napoli**, in the trophy played this week, and in the lunch match against **Bologna**i, the Italian champions managed not to concede a goal, but also this time their way of playing did not convince completely and even if the feeling that the team has an unexpressed potential is still alive, it must be taken into account that the squad currently at the disposal of **Pirlo** will not allow for this season a definitive change of speed and the continuity of results that could bring them back into the challenge between the two Milanese.
The seventh place with which the **Napoli** ended the previous season was mitigated by the success in the **Coppa Italia**, with which **Gattuso** was able to keep his place at the helm of the Neapolitan boat; many have believed that the blame for a bad season, at least as far as the championship is concerned, lay with the disastrous start of **Ancelotti**, but in addition to obvious organic deficiencies the limit of the Campania team lies, in my opinion, in the mediocrity of its coach.
The 3-1 defeat in Verona, together with the **Super Cup**, showed once again the confusion that reigns within the Neapolitan team, now at its sixth defeat of the season out of eighteen games. One out of three, numbers that don't bode well and I wouldn't be surprised if this year **Napoli** remain out of the positions that allow access to the **Europa League**, with **Gattuso** taken as an easy scapegoat for a not first-class purchasing campaign.

At the bottom of the standings, yet another defeat for **Cagliari**, plunged into a downward spiral that seems with no way out, and for **Parma**, for which I did not expect the negative trend to continue even after the return of **Roberto D'Aversa** on the bench. **Torino FC**, who miraculously drew in Benevento in the second half, and above all the **Genoa**, which continues its unstoppable march since **Davide Ballardini** took over the team, are moving up the ranking. The Ligurians have now moved up to 18 points with **Spezia** and **Udinese**, four points clear of the third-last position, shared by **Torino** and **Cagliari**.
The next round will see **Milan** in the lead visiting **Bologna**, in a match that looks rather complicated (especially after this week's setback), as well as **Juventus** in Genoa, at the home of **Sampdoria** and **Roma** against **Hellas Verona**, while the week's predictions look favourable to **Inter**, which hosts **Benevento**.
Particular attention also to the match between **Atalanta** and **Lazio**, two teams in good shape that will repeat on Sunday evening the challenge in the championship for the **Coppa Italia**, and the match in relegation zone between **Crotone** and **Genoa**.

#### Cari amici di Steemit, amanti del calcio italiano,
quasi senza accorgercene siamo arrivati alla fine del girone d'andata, limite temporale che assegna il platonico titolo di campione d'inverno alla squadra in testa alla classifica. Affidandoci alla statistica, chi in passato ha terminato al comando la prima metà della stagione, è riuscito a portare a casa lo scudetto sette volte su dieci, con la **Juventus** a guidare questa particolare classifica, campione d'inverno già 28 volte.
Tuttavia per i bianconeri le cose quest'anno non appaiono rosee come nei precedenti nove campionati e a fregiarsi del titolo quest'anno è toccato al **Milan**, che nonostante la brutta sconfitta casalinga ricevuta dall'**Atalanta** (0-3) può ancora contare su due punti di vantaggio nei confronti dei rivali cittadini dell'**Inter**, avendo chiuso la prima parte del campionato con un bottino invidiabile di 43 punti.

Nonostante le prime diciannove partite siano state condotte dai rossoneri quasi tutte con un risultato in grado di muovere la classifica, secondo il mio giudizio personale la squadra di **Pioli** ha ottenuto più di ogni rosea aspettativa in un girone in cui le cose sono quaso sempre girate per il verso giusto. Il progetto **Milan**, fondato sui giovani talenti con l'ausilio di vecchie volpi come **Ibrahimovic** e **Mandzukic** in attacco, è sicuramente intrigante e, se sviluppato con fiducia (magari da un tecnico più vincente) potrà portare la squadra rossonera a primeggiare nel breve o medio periodo, ma allo stato attuale delle cose è probabile che nella seconda parte della stagione la squadra pagherà dazio all'inesperienza e al tremolio delle gambe facile ad intensificarsi in vista del traguardo.
A volte l'entusiasmo e la spregiudicatezza non bastano, e nella sfida alla collaudatissima **Atalanta**, squadra pressoché inarrestabile quando in giornata di grazia, il **Milan** è sembrato di colpo messo di fronte ai limiti di un organico di buon livello, ma ancora non attrezzato per traguardi importanti.
Discorso diametralmente opposto invece per l'**Inter**, che può contare sulla rosa di gran lunga più completa e di qualità del campionato, ma che continua ad inanellare una serie di passi falsi a volte inspiegabili, responsabili del mancato aggancio alla vetta della classifica.
Anche ad Udine, al momento della verità, l'**Inter** si è smarrita per l'ennesima volta in stagione, mettendo in scena una prestazione opaca ben al di sotto delle proprie potenzialità, viste al completo nel turno precedente nella sfida vittoriosa con la **Juventus**. Quando una squadra dispone dell'organico migliore, ma fatica ad essere in testa al campionato e per di più viene eliminata in malo modo dalle competizioni europee, forse bisognerebbe iniziare ad interrogarsi sulla bontà di un allenatore come **Conte**, strapagato, ma con buona probabilità anche sovrastimato.
A differenza di quanto capiterà al **Milan**, che con un secondo o un terzo posto avrebbe comunque disputato una stagione al di sopra delle aspettative, perdere questo scudetto per l'**Inter** significherebbe fallimento totale, in virtù delle cifre spese nel mercato e della già citata eliminazione in **Champions League**, con **Conte** verosimilmente invitato a togliere il disturbo.

Disturbo che per il momento non toglierà **Paulo Fonseca** a Roma, salvato da un goal del capitano **Lorenzo Pellegrini** in pieno tempo di recupero nella seconda partita settimanale con lo **Spezia**, dopo quella del pasticcio delle sei sostituzioni, che ha sancito l'eliminazione dei giallorossi dalla **Coppa Italia**. La **Roma** continua tuttavia a dimostrare problemi difensivi evidenti (sono già 32 le reti subite dai giallorossi in campionato con una media di oltre 1,5 a partita) ed un'organizzazione tattica ancora fumosa; grazie alla buona qualità dell'organico può sicuramente centrare la qualificazione alla **Champions League**, ma molto difficilmente inserirsi nella lotta scudetto, anche in considerazione del fatto che i capitolini non sono stati in grado di battere nessuna delle prime nove squadre in classifica.
Dopo la vittoria in **Supercoppa** centra i tre punti anche la **Juventus** di **Andrea Pirlo**, ma il punteggio di 2-0 potrebbe suggerire un andamento della partita più facile di quella che è stata realmente. Dopo aver trovato il gol nel primo quarto d'ora, costellato dalla bontà della manovra bianconera, la squadra ha lasciato il campo alle ripartenze avversarie e il **Bologna**, soprattutto nel secondo tempo, è andato vicino al goal del pareggio, prima di subire la rete di **McKennie** che ha chiuso definitivamente la partita.

Sia con il **Napoli** nel trofeo disputato in settimana che nel lunch match con i felsinei, i campioni d'Italia sono riusciti a non subire goal, ma anche questa volta il loro modo di giocare non ha convinto del tutto e seppur la sensazione che la squadra abbia un potenziale inespresso rimane viva, occorre prendere atto che la rosa attualmente a disposizione di **Pirlo** non permetterà per questa stagione un cambio di passo defintivo e quella continuità di risultati che possa portare a rientrare nella sfida tra le due milanesi.
Il settimo posto con il quale il **Napoli** ha chiuso la precedente stagione è stato mitigato dal successo in **Coppa Italia**, con il quale **Gattuso** ha potuto conservare il suo posto al timone della barca partenopea; molti hanno ritenuto che le colpe di una stagione storta, almeno per quel che riguarda il campionato, fossero del disastroso inizio di **Ancelotti**, ma oltre ad evidenti carenze di organico il limite della squadra campana sta, secondo il mio punto di vista, nella mediocrità del suo allenatore.
La sconfitta per 3-1 patita a Verona, unità a quella della **Supercoppa**, ha evidenziato ancora una volta la confusione che regna all'interno della squadra partenopea, giunta alla sesta sconfitta stagionale su diciotto partite. Una su tre, numeri che non promettono nulla di buono e non mi stupirei se quest'anno il **Napoli** restasse fuori pure dalle posizioni che permettono l'accesso all'**Europa League**, con **Gattuso** preso a facile capro espiatorio di una campagna acquisti non di primo livello.

In coda, ennesima sconfitta per il **Cagliari**, piombato in una spirale negativa che sembra senza via d'uscita, e per il **Parma**, per il quale non mi aspettavo che il trend negativo continuasse anche dopo il ritorno di **Roberto D'Aversa** in panchina, mentre muovono la classifica il **Torino**, che pareggia miracolosamente a Benevento nei minuti di recupero, e soprattutto il **Genoa**, che continua la sua marcia inarrestabile da quando **Davide Ballardini** ha ripreso il comando della squadra. Ora i liguri hanno agganciato, a quota 18, **Spezia** e **Udinese**, distanziando di quattro punti la terzultima posizione, condivisa da **Torino** e **Cagliari**.
Il prossimo turno vedrà il **Milan** capolista far visita al **Bologna**, in una partita che si prospetta piuttosto complicata (specialmente dopo la battuta d'arresto di questa settimana) così come quella della **Juventus** a Genova, in casa della **Sampdoria** e quella della **Roma** contro il lanciatissimo **Hellas Verona**, mentre sulla carta la settimana sembra favorevole all'**Inter**, che ospita il **Benevento**.
Attenzione particolare anche alla sfida tra **Atalanta** e **Lazio**, due squadre piuttosto in forma che replicheranno domenica sera anche in campionato la sfida che si terrà in settimana per la **Coppa Italia**, e alla partita salvezza tra **Crotone** e **Genoa**.
