<p>Those who are parents, I am sure they will agree with me, in the
fact that when you have school-age children, especially if they are
little ones, there is not much time to get bored. There is always something to do,
sometimes it is even crazy and it is even exhausting. But like what
we are moved by love towards our shoots, tiredness becomes
satisfaction to see his tender innocent faces. Well i tell you
that these carnivals spend them making a boat headband, if like
read, my youngest daughter, who is in the first level of preschool, the day

subject was The Means of Transport, (cars, motorcycles, Bicycles, planes,
boats, tractors, etc). It turns out that my daughter had to be in the group
of the boats and had to wear a headband or vicera decorated with a

<p>God and now what do I do ... that's what I thought when I found out,
but after digesting the news, I am not left with another, but
manage them. I got down to business, and started looking for
materials that could be used to make a boat. I didn't want
outside, just a drawing stuck on a cardboard, I wanted it to look like a ship
really. Yes, I know… sometimes I like to complicate things,
but then where is the fun. But since my girl is tiny,
he is only 3 years old, that plan implied that he needed materials
light enough so that the small boat was not too
heavy, because I had to put it on a headband. To achieve my goal,
aside from requiring a lot of ingenuity and creativity, I required
materials that I will show and list below. And I can't stop
mention, that of course, I received the support of the whole family, all
They contributed ideas, since, on more than one occasion, as we say here in
Venezuela… “my saw got stuck” and I couldn't find a way to go, but
together we finally made it.</p>

## <center> Step 1: Construction of the Boat Hull </center>

<p>Then take foami and cut the pieces to line the helmet. How
you can see in the images, to line the exterior of the boat, I decided
use a contrasting two-tone pattern, black and red. For
give it a better finish, put a yellow ribbon on
middle of the two colors. As some ships have a kind of
windows, in the black stripe cut some circle that, when placing
on top of the acetate, it gives the impression of being the hatches. In the case of
instead, choose to cover it in a Christmas green shade.
Well, the helmet is ready.</p>

## <center>Step 2: Construction of the passenger cabin </center>

<p>This part was easier, I found at home a small box of
cardboard that was of some medicine and that its dimensions were adjusted to
my needs, (but, if you don't have it, you can build it with a little
cardboard). Another detail that made things easier for me was that the interior
of the box was white, so I took it apart very delicately, so as not to
break it and put it back together, but this time, put the
white side, so save me having to cover it. I already had the
cabin ready, so I attached it to the hull with silicone. But the
passengers, looking at the things that I always keep, I found some
small circular stickers of toads. They adjusted
perfectly to the size of the cabin, place 3 on one right side and 3
at the left-side. But, I was still missing something, I re-registered
among my craft materials, and I found some little rings
metallic. When I saw them they reminded me of the frames of the hatches of
the boats so I put them in the cabin and on the hull and that gave
a little more realism. Now the fireplaces, how would you do them? ... easy
I kept recycling, my husband suffers from allergies and uses nasal drops,
I found two little bottles that, luckily, I had forgotten to throw away. My husband
I cut off the tip and the rest was easy, I covered them with tape and foami and
I glued them to the cabin with silicone and voila.</p>

## <center>Step 3: Attaching the boat to the headband </center>

<p>The boat was almost ready, it was just missing some details of
decoration, that I leave for the end. But now I had to focus,
solve one last problem, how to stick the boat to the headband? ...
I had to do it right, because my daughter had to dance with him and
Of course you couldn't take it apart mid-dance. The solution was ... cut
two cardboard circles, which I glued together to make it firmer and
will not bend. Next step, place in the center of the circle the
headband, (which of course, had already lined with colored ribbon
blue) and make 2 cuts in the circle, on both sides of the headband. TO
Through those cuts, pass a piece of tape with which to hold the
cardboard circle to the headband and, in addition, I reinforced it, placing
hot glue or silicone. Already with a flat base attached to the headband,
it only remained to glue the boat to the base with silicone and place the details
endings.</p>

<p>I cut some strips of crepe paper similar to waves and that
glue it to the base to simulate the sea and also cut in foami
frosty, some algae and starlets and stick them also in
base. As final details I put the anchor to the boat, which,
I made with a piece of an old sarcillo and with a golden cord simulate
some cabochons on the deck, with this I finished my boat headband.
Thank God the teachers were delighted and my daughter enjoyed it.
