Even if these robots are very skilled at operations, it will take a very long time before they are allowed to operate humans because just like you've mentioned they are highly insensitive and could end up with more organ destruction during the operational model.

Wow! Technology is really developing more than we can ever imagine. I never knew we now have robotic surgery in the health sector which helps the doctor to engage in surgical treatments and operation.

Very interesting article, my compliments, it is full of food for thought. I believe that robotics applied to medicine represents a great milestone because it improves vision, the ability to perform complex movements and it is less invasive than traditional interventions.
I believe this is only the beginning given the potential of robotic technology proven already in 2002 with an experimental case of remote cholecystectomy, patient in Strasbourg and surgeon in new York.<a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/11440900_Transcontinental_Robot-Assisted_Remote_Telesurgery_Feasibility_and_Potential_Applications"> Source</a>
I believe that development cannot be stopped but its application must certainly be managed ethically and spread democratically.

Well, In my opinion, it would be a great use of Artificial technology to save human life and robots can assist doctors to complete surgery and I am waiting for such technologies to come in my country because the number of doctors as per the population is less.

I consider these robots to be like an "assistant" to the human surgeon.
Or perhaps we could compare them with those robotic suits or robotic exoskeletons that "enhance" human capacities.

That is, a surgery done 100% by an autonomous robot is still a utopia.

In my opinion, these tools applied to the field of medicine represent one of the greatest advances in science in this field. I hope the prototypes continue to be refined.

It is very good to know about innovations like this, as you say, although they have their disadvantages, I think that technology is making its way very quickly and medical personnel will surely receive the adequate training to operate these robotic systems so that they can help them save lives.

Couldn't agree more, but I believe autonomous surgical procedure can just be like Tesla that can drive by itself. It's all about input, sensors, parameters and level of error tolerance. At this point, I believe only two things:

1) To move forward, trial and error, set a new standard as we move forward with autonomous.
2) We don't do at all. That's it.

At any point of time, robotic will be able to relief human. Automation will have a high extend of precision and can replace a lots of thing that human can't do.

Take this as an example, laser assisted cataract surgery. We saw human doctor does the manual surgery, but let's not forget there is a ton of autonomous function behind the simple "cut and paste" of the patient's eye. The scopes that focus at which point. The lighting system that allow the scope to capture image clearly so the surgeon able to perform the surgery successfully. All that has been taken for granted, because of the amount of "parameter" has been previously set upon.

Now, all we need is another robot to sit there, with a bunch of parameter, to justify the human eyes, room temperature, patient's blood pressure, and ofcourse many more surgical knowledge which I have absolutely no idea.

On a very different topic, seemingly unrelated, but the "parameter" I mentioned in my reply, if added a neural network to make the robot to "decide" based on the parameter, it will become an AI.
