Being a boss or being a leader, **¿Which are you?** **¿Can you be a leader and a boss at the same time?**

What can we say about a **LEADER**, well, let's start, a leader is a person who motivates others, is an example to follow, is one who puts himself in the place of the employee, who does not mind getting his hands dirty as long as he teaches and his business thrives. He is capable of leading a team of people without any problem.

*They are influential people, regardless of whether they are bosses or not.*

A person with leadership qualities, does not impose himself on his team, on the contrary, he puts himself at his equal, looks for the way to understand them and to get the best out of each one, always in a good way and even charismatic, he understands them and looks to improve his skills. *He has a good emotional intelligence.*

They are people who know their defects and virtues, are capable of self-criticism and assume what they can do for their team and what they must delegate.

They are discreet, if there is a mistake they also assume it as their own, because they are the ones who in a certain way are in charge. They value the effort of the team members, they look for group results, they do not give it to themselves.

They inspire confidence and respect, and they encourage their team to continue growing in all aspects of their lives. In spite of not achieving the expected results, they value the effort of their team members.

On the other hand we have the **BOSS,** is a person who likes to impose himself and that everything is done based on his criteria, many times they earn their position because they impose it and not because of their skills.

They often want to intimidate their staff and not guide them based on respect and trust but based on fear and authority. In these conditions, staff often do not last as long as expected, and their performance suffers because they feel undervalued.

They tend to abuse the control they have over the situation, they want to impose their criteria without taking into account the opinion of the team, they want to have everything under control, they do not care about the personal or emotional circumstances of their workers, they are only seen as a means to achieve an objective.

There is no communication, the environment is hostile, they tend to assume all the achievements without taking into account anyone else. They always want to see positive results, they don't value the effort in spite of not having the expected result.

Although the name seems to have the same meaning, there is a big difference between the two.

**So can a leader be a boss, well I think so, but a boss can never be a LEADER!**
