It's been a while since I read news that will shake things up for the steem community like this one [Steemit-Tron partnership](https://steemit.com/steem/@justinsunsteemit/excited-about-tron-and-steem-steemit-collaboration). Although it isn't a complete surprise for many Steemians (there has been speculations about it in the recent weeks), many are sceptical about this partnership since there isn't enough information about the plans of Steemit & Tron foundation about it.

Some are concerned about the influence that Justin Sun has acquired over the Steen network since Steemit Inc has control over a large stake account like @steem and @steemit. 

The influence of these 2 accounts is more than enough to change the landscape of the whole steem network, I hope our current witnesses and community leaders are well equipped to contest this potential move by Tron foundation. That's just the possible worst case scenario that I hope not to happen anytime soon.

The other scenario that many are also concerned about is the statement made by Tron foundation in their Medium post that mention about a "token swap"; the migration of old steem token to the Tron network. In my opinion, this statement requires clarification since there is no need for a token "swap" or any form of migration of steem tokens to any other blockchain other than the one that we have in the steem network. The steem network is capable enough to handle all of the transactions and we already have a well functioning wallet. Our steem wallet also have the necessary features to keep our staked steem & liquid steem safe. Bottomline, I don't see the need for token swap or migration!

Now, let's talk about this steemit post [post] authored by @justinsunsteemit that provides an initial insight about the intention of Tron's Justin Sun about the partnership of Steemit Inc & Tron Foundation. I have to admit, I initially thought that it was a malicious post from an assuming account however with my further investigation about it, the said post & steemit account seems legit to me. The post was featured by the Steemit team on the steemit.com website and the @justinsunsteemit was also powered-up with steempower and gifted with 100 liquid steem by the official @steem account. It's enough proof to take it seriously, Justin Sun himself or his representative has made the first move to introduce himself to the Steem network.

The cool thing about it is his good intention for Steem & Tron for the decentralized social media platforms that the steem community has been working on for the past 4 years now.

So, what could be the best thing that Justin Sun can bring to the table? Aside from his enormous resources that could boost the development by Steemit devs, Tron's financial backing will provide Steemit Inc enough runway to further the development of steem network and allow the development of the potential bridge for Steem & Tron. On top of that, Tron's resources will also allow Steemit to on-board more devs that will serve as an extra hand for the current team which could result in a faster execution of Steemit's development goals.

Aside from that, I've also thought of the fact that Justin Sun is savvy when it comes to marketing. Although I'm not sure about the correlation of Tron-Steemit partnership to the recent Tron & Steem token price hike but it appears that the merger was enough to convince some investors to buy-in. It's something that I believe many Steemians have been waiting for since being in a long bear market has bored a lot of Steem users. And now that steem is finally picking up some value (price), some of the accounts have finally woken up from hibernation. The accounts who took a long break are surfacing once again.

So, it appears that the news about Steemit-Tron partnership is already showing a positive impact that we Steem users will benefit from.

I may sound glad about the news & a part of me is still skeptical about the future consequences of this partnership.

For now, I will stay sharp on the potential move on either side and be ready once everything turns south.
