Soggy days, spring water

Soggy days when I woke up early (about half past ten or so) and looked out the window. Did not feel like going for another winter swim session at all. But after a nice morning coffee and some fried egg sandwiches something changed and I felt good. Maybe it was the fact that I didn't take a sip of alcohol last night, maybe it was my exceptional personality, but I started feeling it. Been abstinating a bit recently, as I've been drinking on weekend for as long as I remember.. it's time for a reboot. Not 100%, but healthier living.

I did a quick trip to the store as a thought of cooking a nice juice whole chicken. It's perfect when you come back from what I think as quite a decent exercise, famished, tired, but euphoric. You sit in the couch in front of the TV and just enjoy a nice dinner.

An idea is as good as done. Time for the cold swim. The display at the pool reports air temperature as 6 degrees Celsius and water as 4 degrees Celsius. Some of the lads back at the pool had their own thermometers with them, with ropes attached, so they threw them in the pool and took their own measurements - they reported the tempereture as 2 degrees Celsius, according to them, the publicly displayed temp was always a bit higher and wrong-er.

I managed to do my record today in cold water swimming. 50 meters and approximately one minute in the water. Boy that feels painful when you get out of the water, but almost instantaneosly it starts to feel absolutely euphoric. 4 trips between the hot tub and the cold pool today. Maybe soon we go for 75 meters and 1+ minute in the cold pool.

The lads back at the pool told us also about an incident last week here at the pools, while we were visiting the other winter swimming station, at the sea. There was one guy who did this at a professional level, he swam for 20 minutes in the pool and didn't manage to get out anymore. Some of his buddies lifted him out, he fell, he crawled on the ground - people who saw it, said it was a nasty sight. Later his buddies told that he did this kind of shit often. Well, at least he has his buddies with him all the time. Apparently, he also holds some record on his name, you can google his name if you wish.
