How Is The Game Treating You?
<div class="text-justify">

Greetings Steemians,

Not the game of Steem, oh no. The game of life.

How is it treating you?

Are you poor? Are you rich? Do you own your own business, or do you work a 9-5 job for a corporate entity?

I've met many poor rich men and women in this life, and I have also met many rich poor men and women in this life.

Are you confused yet?

</center>

If you are, good. Allow me to tickle that thinking box a bit.

The questions I am presenting, are not meant to be answered to me. They are intended as introspective questions, for you the reader to ask yourself.

What do you define as **value** in this life?

Is it money, happiness, purpose, status?

*Notice I placed money first, ah yes..*

Because I'm willing to bet money is the first thing that comes to mind when 99% of individuals are asked this question.

Now I want you to think in literal terms.

What is a bank note?

<center>
![image.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/futuremind/22CsNn7o-image.png)
Thanks Google!
</center>

Ok, so now that we've deciphered what money *literally* is, we must all agree that our placement of value on paper is a subconscious agreement to a perception that ink in just the right spots, and a standard size cut of a piece of paper is valuable. Correct?

If you're curious about the promissory thing and don't already understand, I highly suggest doing some research on that. You might be a bit shocked to what you uncover in *plain sight.*

Now I want you to think back to when you were a child. Yes, think back.

</center>

Ok great!

What kind of things gave you enjoyment? *While you weren't in school of course.*

Yeah, cause these days your 5 year old child could get in trouble for [hugging](https://abcnews.go.com/US/year-autism-reportedly-punished-hugging-classmate-family/story?id=65849113) another classmate. Don't believe it? Just click on that link..

While you're on your devout hamster wheel, please do think about what your children are being [taught](https://youtu.be/NMqVzoHguoo) and what purpose it serves to teach children these things, and treat them in ways which **divide**.

Ok so anyway, back on track here..

What did you enjoy doing? Did you enjoy riding your bike? Did you enjoy looking at the clouds? *(Get yer head out of the clouds Johnny!)* Did you enjoy exploring? Did you enjoy coming up with creative fun ideas with your friends?

How did you feel in school when your teacher told you that you were wrong? How did you feel when you were told what "job" you *should* have when you "grow up"?

Did you notice if you did not conform, everyone else would look at you funny? They might laugh in unison, and perhaps you didn't see it, after all you were just a child, an impressionable child that just adhered to the belief systems you were given and didn't question anything, while your parents were dutifully on the hamster wheel of "life."

Have you ever thought about why children are more heavily medicated [today](https://health.usnews.com/health-care/patient-advice/articles/2017-10-04/are-we-overmedicating-our-children-with-adhd) than ever before?

What age does the brain stop developing? Anyone know? 25? Is it 25 years of age?

Idk, let's see what a quick google search spits [back.](https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-24173194)

Now why would we want to dope up our children with amphetamine based ~~medications~~ poisons?

Because it's easier? Because a "professional" tells you your child has a disorder? Because maybe child protective services might get involved, and secretly you are fucking scared? Willing to poison your child because you are afraid of the consequence of not being a good sheep and going along with it?

I can imagine anyone reading this who medicates their child might feel angry and offended. I can imagine anyone who does not will shake their head in agreement. *The polarization of society at its best, divide and conquer*. Let's not hate each other, let's not degrade each other. Let's just talk about things reasonably shall we?

Do you ever wake up in the morning and wish you could just go back to sleep for a while? Wish you didn't need to go to that damn job that you never wanted in the first place, but *must* do in order to survive?

Is it what you truly wanted for yourself? And hey, I'm sure some people are definitely working a job that they enjoy and gives them fulfillment. That is great, and I'm sure money becomes secondary when you are working in alignment to what makes you feel good, correct?

This system we live in protects men of evil. Law protects them, and we should all be questioning why law is not a standard teaching early in school.

Through my studies, what I have uncovered about what law really, is very daunting.

It is, to put it lightly, a dogmatic confusion of language, in which you play a fictitious role, and your assigned counsel during any court proceeding, is there to represent a "fool" who cannot speak for him or herself, because you do not know the language of law, so how *could* you represent yourself in a system which you've been deliberately *not* educated on? Ever wondered why you don't need to show identification when you go to court?

Money is not necessary for us to exist. Law is not necessary either. The last time I spoke of this, I received a comment basically saying "but what about the rapists, the murderers, the terrible evil people!" Well friends, the good people out number these types, and it's pretty much common sense in my opinion.. What do you think is going to happen to those people if we live in a lawless world? It's rather simple, they will slowly cease to exist, or be dealt with in ways which the common good decides is appropriate. Simple as that.

The law puts women beaters, rapists, murderers in a cage, later to be let loose to society again. That sounds like a protection racket to me. Let's not even go into the privatized corporate prison system, another topic entirely.

How do you feel when you see a homeless drunk staggering down the street with a grocery cart?

Do you feel bad for him/her? Do you feel contempt? Do you offer any form of help?

In my extensive experience with homelessness *(living it)* 9 out of 10 people will turn a blind eye, or look with eyes of contempt.

You know, I've spent allot of time thinking about why this is, because in my core I know most humans are good people, who don't like the idea of others suffering.

Could it be that the unfortunate ones are looked at with contempt because of fear? Yes fear, the working class citizen who works hard in a job he or she hates to provide for their family, and might only be a paycheck or three away from being homeless themselves? Could it be that they hate the less fortunate because they do not want to come to terms with the idea that this could happen to them as well?

I have met homeless lawyers, homeless doctors, and plenty of homeless veterans. Other esteemed positions as well. Society generally looks upon these positions in a good way. Not everyone of course, but lawyers and doctors, generally viewed respectively, and exemplify a stability in society, financial and mental stability, yet I have met plenty who've fallen to the bottom rungs of society.

It could happen to anyone, and no one needs to suffer like this. The need for money and resources, competitive based BE-ings allow for this, because we've all been lied to, we've all been manipulated to take part in a system which only benefits a few, and 99% of us are just puppets on strings.

The media lies to you, the corporate social platforms moderate you. You're given a choice of a politician to vote for, and nothing ever truly changes.

My people, the only solution is to disbar the system itself. Let go of the things you were taught, forget about the concept of money, and become collectively non-compliant, do not go to work, do not spend your money, in fact, burn it.

But, as per the usual, the few who understand just how psychopathic this system is will continue to watch in disbelief.

If freedom is not something we all want, then freedom is something we will never have.

Much love,

People don't even know what freedom is. That's why they think they have it.
And you don't need what you already have ;)

This world is completely brainwashed. They do the most evil things and call it the most good things..
Everything is upside down.
Even when you go to the doctor, they don't help you. They make you even more ill.

And everyone pays their taxes to support this bs. Also everyone does his job. And maybe the few things you unconsciously do, don't seem bad at first glance. But adding all these things you all do (and don't ask or care for what and why) up just results in this misery. And then people wonder..

Best are psychologists.. instead of researching psychopaths or all kinda illnesses.. they help these psychopaths understand us empathy-dumbos to then just brainfuck and abuse us.
Why do you think are ads so fucking good? Ever wondered about the little hidden messages between cuts or in the background?
Your kids just live in their artifical brainwash smartphones..

money is a means to an end, not the goal
no money means lacking the power to control the energy around you
that's all everything is : access to energy , how much, and how much of that you can control, from the sun down to the particles
but i might have missed some detail
in this world, which i did not create last time i checked,
money is a substitute for exchange of energy, but since its not backed by anything but paper law it means in essence nothing, however
lack of if means having no means to control
in this world
sad facts

Indeed, sad truth(s).

I missed some points in the post as well, but regardless if it "resonates" with anyone, it does not change what is.
As I prepare to venture this world with a backpack once again, I am grateful to carry something else with me as well, and it is what I call a realistic view of reality. Many might call it insanity. To each their own.
Nice to see you :)

A lot of rich people work 16 hours a day. If he likes his job very much, he thinks that work is his life, then he is very happy.
If he doesn't like his job and feels tired, then he is a poor rich man.

Woah... well done.
To answer some of your opening questions, I'm neither poor nor rich. I've never been either, but I have been... well off, especially when still living at home with my folks. I am currently the most poor I have ever been, both in assets and income. Below the mean, though not quite "poverty."
I own my own business, but it doesn't earn enough to pay me, so I do contract work to support my family.

On *value*, my first thought was **purpose**, but that's because I've taken time to think about these things, too.

Here's what surprised me:

>Do you ever wake up in the morning and wish you could just go back to sleep for a while?

I realized the answer is now "hardly ever," because of **purpose**. Things are not ideal, but I'm working towards something. Compared to when I worked full-time, earned more money, spent more money, and didn't feel like I was working toward anything. I was just trying not to go broke. Well now I've been broke, and it gave me a lot more focus on that question of what has value.

@futuremind ·
Thank you for sharing your perspective and life experience @wholeself-in,
The system we live in currently promotes separation and breakdown of family units. To send a child off at the age of 18 to college, while they are racking up 100's of thousands of dollars worth of debt in student loans, is a nice set up for people to become enslaved, in my humble opinion.

I have a family member who is currently a quarter mil in debt and still working on her doctorate in the medical industry. She currently works for a bank and swallows anti-depressants to get through her life. I'm completely shut out from my family for trying to help them see things the way I see them. At the end of the day I am a perpetual non-functioning person in this system though, so my credibility is based off of how little success I've obtained.

I've been chronically homeless for the past ten years, and preparing to be homeless yet again. Some people have offered me kind words and empathy, but to keep things real, I don't fear homelessness because I have lived it so many times and know I can survive one way or another.

My hardships have given me the greatest gift anyone can ask for in life. Wisdom, perspective, and an innate understanding of what life is truly all about.

Those who dismiss and degrade my perspectives likely couldn't walk a mile in my shoes, and the sad part is I would still help them if they had to.

Purpose is what is is all about, and it is nice to know others think about these things.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts :)

I think more people are waking up to the problem of systems that turn people into products, commodities to be farmed. I think that more will begin to turn away from such systems, and faster, but not that it will be easy.
I don't doubt that you will take care of yourself on the next phase of your journey, but I'm sorry to hear it anyway. I can't see being homeless as anything other than a hardship.
Then again, I also see the situation of that medical student as a hardship - and not the one I'd choose, of the two. I am part of the medical system (the job I left
and the contract work I still do) on a much lower tier - my job had a Bachelor's entry level, though the education system's inflationary bubble quickly raised that to Master's and is now flirting with Doctorate. I have just about had it with the whole health care system, its regulations and its gatekeepers. For every amazing lifesaving treatment, there must be 100 people who have delegated the important task of taking care of their health to a *system* that doesn't really care what outcomes they get. And at least 100 "health care professionals" who wonder if there is any purpose to their hard work.

"Why do you smoke?"

"It's my freedom to smoke. Don't ask me why."

"Can you choose to not smoke?"

"No. But can you smoke?"

"You're basically trapped by bad habits. You've lost your freedom. Stop smoking now."

"You haven't answer my question, can you smoke?"

"… …"

"Clearly I have my freedom to smoke, you have your freedom to not smoke. Had my smoke goes to your house and invaded your life? Does it even matter if I die of smoking? Now you're violating my freedom to smoke and freedom to not answer and freedom to not seeing your face."

Freedom is the most important part, to an extend of perception level. Depending on what kind of freedom we're looking for. I got the freedom choose to be lazy and go broke for the rest of my life. Or, I can choose to work hard now and get the freedom later, but then what if I lost my health later before I get to enjoy my freedom? And health is what we choose to eat now decide what kind of health we are getting in future.

So, value in life? Choice is the value.

Thank you for the thoughts. We always have the freedom of choice, and bear the responsibility of the consequences of those choices based on the pre-set "game." Indeed.

A million people might play a game, while one or a few programmer(s) makes the choice to program/re-program the game how he/she/they see fit.

The choice to not play is still a choice, even if there is a consequence to not playing.

The choice for the masses to educate themselves and hack the game for a re-program that the masses collectively want is a choice not likely to happen, due to human nature.

The choice to eat KFC versus A salad is a choice as well, and may come with consequences later if one chooses to pick the first option. KFC sounds pretty good right now.
